AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF THAT CERTAIN
PUBLIC ALLEY OR STREET' FIFTY (50) FEET IN WIDTH, THE SAME RUNNING
FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF AFTON AVENUE OR GREGORY AVENUE A DISTANCE
OF 152.7 FEET WEST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF
FRIEDMAN AVENUE WITH AFTON AVENUE, AND TO FRIEDMAN AVENUE, A
DISTANCE OF 210.94 FEET WEST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTER-
SECTION OF AFTON AVENUE AND FRIEDMAN AVENUE; AND AUTHORIZING THE
CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE IN THE McCRACNEN CIRCUIT COURT
A SUIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING SAID PUSLIC ALLEY OR STREET
LEGALLY CLOSED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the closing
of all of that public alley or street running from the North side
of Afton Avenue or Gregory Avenue a distance of 152.7 feet west
of the northwest corner of the intersection of Friedman Avenue
with Afton Avenue, and to Friedman Avenue, a distance of 210.94
feet west of the Northwest corner of the intersection of Afton
Avenue and Friedman Avenue; which public street or alley is more
particularly described as follows:
"A 50 foot street running from Afton Avenue
(formerly Gregory Avenue) to Friedman Avenue
the east boundary line of which begins at a
point on the north side of Afton avenue 152.7
feet from the intersection of Afton Avenue and
Friedmah Avenue and runs in a northerly direction
to Friedman Avenue intersecting Friedman Avenue
210.94 feet from the intersection of Afton Avenue
and Friedman Avenue. Said street or alley being
bounded on the east by the said lot or parcel of
land owned by Lillian Lackey, to which she derived
title by deed from Edgar Hamilton, et al, dated
December 8, 1934, recorded in Deed Book 184, page
367, and said street or alley being bounded on the
west by Lots Nos. 10, 11 and a part of Lot No. 12, of
the block No. 15 of the Afton Heights Addition to the
City of Paducah, as shown by Block Map 8, page 101 of
the City Engineer's office, that part of Lots Nos. 10
and 11 bounding said street or alley on the west is
owned by Lillian Lackey and that part of Lot No 12 which
bounds said street or alley on the west is owned by
C.A. and Mary Smith."
And the Corporation Counsel is hereby directed to institute in
the McCracken Circuit Court a suit for the purpose of carrying
the provisions of this ordinance into effect.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full for ce and effect from
and after its adoption.
