BE IT ORDAINED BY THE £O ARD OF WNIS3IOUERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCTa:
SEC TION 1.
That the City 1--anager be, and he is hereby authorized
and empowered to employ any number of temporary or extra firemen
to serve in the fire department of the City of Faducah during
the absence or disability of regular firemen, and to assist
the regular firemen in the event of an emergency or a threat
of a fire which, without outside assistance, would endanger the
lives and property of the people in the City of Paducah. Extra
or temporary firemen shall possess the same qualifications as
regular members of the fire department and shall be paid a
salary not exceedinE the amount to which a grade "B" fireman
is entitled.
SECTION 2.
No person shall be employed as an extra or temporary
fireman for a longer period than one (1) month, and he shall
not acquire any rank, position, right of seniority or other
benefits under the rules of civil service by reason of the
services rendered by him.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
anal after its adoption.
