REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY WHICH HAS NOT BEEN VOLUNTARILY
LISTED BY THE UUNER FOR TAXATION PURPOSES, PRESCRI DING THE
DUTIES OF THE CITY ASSESSOR AND HER DEPUTIES IWITH REFERENCE TO
THE LISTING OF PROPhRTY FOR TAXATION PURPOSES AT THE RESIDENCES
AND PLACES OF BUSINESS OF TAXPA-ERS, AND FIXING THE DATE FOR
THE CLOSING OF THE; ASSESSPENT BOOKS FOR ME YEAR 1947 AND IN
EACH SUCCEEDING YEAR, AND PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY FOR ANY
VIOLATION THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMNI33IONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH:
SEC TION 1.
Any person who, owning or having in his possession
or under his control on July 1, 1947 and on July 1 of each
succeeding year thereafter any real or personal property
subject to taxation and does not voluntarily appear at the
assessors office and furnish her a true and complete list
of the same between July 1 and September 1, .shall supply the
city assessor and her deputies with a complete list of his
property and the value thereof when called upon at his residence,
usual place of abode or place of business.
SECTION 2.
The assessment books shall be closed on December
1, 1947 and on the same date in each year thereafter. Between
September 1 and December 1, 1947, and between the same dates
in each year thereafter, it shall be the duty of the assessor
personally or through her deputies to see in person or
to call at the residence, usual place of abode or place
of business of all taxpayers who have not listed their
property at her office for that purpose prior to September
1 or whose property is not well known to her, and the assessor
or her deputies shall secure the assessment lists by making
such calls and shall vievi the property when practicable to do so.
SECTION 3.
Any person, firm, or corporation violating the provisions of
this ordinance shall, upon conviction in the Police Court of the City
of Faducah, be fined not less than y10.00 nor more than,;;50.00 for
each violation thereof.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption,
