That Section 1 of an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE GRANTING OF SICK LEAVES AND LEAVES OF ABSENCE FOR VACATIONS TO ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on February 4, 1947, be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall read as follows: "Section 1. Upon the application of any employee of the City of Paducah appointed by the City Manager, accompanied by a cer- tificate of a reputable physician that such employee, by reason of an injury sustained or an illness suffered by him, is physicall, unable to perform his duties, the City Manager is hereby authorized to grant to such employee a sick leave with pay during his dis- ability provided the period or periods of such disability does not exceed twelve (12) days in any one year beginning January 1, and shall not be cumulative from year to year. Provided, however, in the event of the death of the husband, wife, son, daughter, fath mother, grandfather, grandmother, brother or sister of an employee and he or she is required to be absent from duty on that account, h or she shall be entitled to an additional leave of absence with pay, for a period of not exceeding three (3) days in any one year." SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
