G'IRE STATION, AND THE POLICE GARAGE, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR FOR AND
ON BEHALF OF rIE CITY OF PADUCAH TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE
PURCHASE AND IIISTALLATIOId OF SAID HEATII:G FACILITIES, AND PRESCRIBII,
TIE TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO BE CONTAINED IN aAID CONTRACT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE IIOARD OF COI2.iISSIO1ZRS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SEC TION 1.
That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Emmett D. Hannan in
the sum of '2,540.00 for the purchase and installation of a neer ste<
boiler for the heating of the City Hall Building, the Central Fire
Station, and the police garage, and the Mayor is hereby authorized
and empowered for and on behalf of the City of Paducah to enter int
a contract with the said Emmett D. Hannan for the purchase and in-
stallation of said boiler, which contract shall contain the f ollowil
agreements, conditions and covenants:
"That for and in consideration of the sum of ,:2,540.00 to
be paid to him by the City, the Contractor (meaning Emmett D.
Hannan) hereby agrees:
(1) To dismantle and remove from the boiler room, either as a
whole or by the use of a cutting torch, the steel boiler now in
use at the city hall, the same to become the property of the Con-
tractor.
(2) To remove all boiler room walls which may be necessary in
order to install a new boiler and replace said walls in good
order by competent workmen.
(3) To furnish and install complete a new number 7179 Kewanee Hi -
Firebox Steei. boiler, place the same on a suitable foundation in
the boiler room for use in connection with the present stoker, in-
istall the present stoker in this new boiler complete with all
necessary dead plates, refractory and wiring, and any boiler parts
that maybe necessary for installation of the stoker, and doing
all re;ractory and brick work necessary for the stoker setting.
(4) To furnish and install said new boiler, all necessary trimminf
and foundations when installing said new boiler, as well as all
necessary connections and fittings, the boiler and connections
to be of a size not less than the size required to carry the
present load in the city hall, the central fire station, and the
police garage.
(5) o cover the new boiler with 1 1/2 inch magnesia blocks,
finished with 1/2 inch asbestos and Portland Cement smoothly

troweled, and then to be covered with 10 ounce canvas and one coat
of paint to be applied, said new boiler to be equipped with heavy
gauge breaching of the same size as the boiler outlet, and to fur-
nish the mater_als and do all work necessary for the installation
of said heating unit complete and ready for operation.
(6) To guarantee the aforesaid installation to be free from
defects of any kind for a period of one (1) year and to make all
necessary repairs during said period; and
(7) To pay to workmen the prevailing wages for the kind of work
reauired for the installation of the aforesaid boiler, and to com-
ply with all laws, regulations, and ordinances of the State, city,
county, or Board of Underwriters relating to said work.
It is understood and agreed that the aforesaid contract price
for said heating installation shall be paid •+hen the work has been
completed and the installation has been approved by the Board of
Commissioners."
SEC TION 2.
This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of
Board of Commissioners and remain on file one (1) week for public
spection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its
final passage, and if adopted the same shall be in full force and
effect ten (10) days thereafter.
