CLAIM DEED TO J. DE'.'!EY LOCKE A:;D ', IFE, LUCILLE V. LCCKE, RELEASING
TO T:I IS ALL RIGH's TITLE AILD I'tiTEREST OF TIIE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KEiTUCXY, IN AND ZO LOT 22 IN ROBERTSON'S ADDITION TO SAID CITY
AND AS SHO'sN ON ADDITION "S" OF IIARRINGTON'S OFFICIAL MAP OF
PADUCAH; AND AUT3oRIZING Th'E MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
A DEED TO SAID PROPERTY
'MEREAS, b`/ deed dated April 25, 1884, recorded in
Commissioners Deed Book 2, page.100, McCracken County Court
Clerk's Office, the ;'aster Commissioner of the McCracken Court
of Co^mon Pleas, conveyed the real property descrii,ed below to
P. D. Yeiser, Trustee in trust for the City of Paducah; whereas,
said P. D. Yeiser is now dead, and; whereas no record can be
found to indicate that said P. D. Yeiser or said City of Paducah
ever re -conveyed said real property; and
i'JHEREAS, Idargaret Petter, wife of Justus Ietter, ac-
quired -ossession of said real property prior to the year 1890,
and continuously maintained possession thereof until the time of
her death in the year 1925; whereas for many years prior to and
up to the time of her death, the said I,:argaret Fetter claimed to
be the owner of said real property, and ,whereas said "arearet
Petter was at the time of her death the owner of said•real pro-
perty by virtue of' adverse possession thereof for more than
thirty (30) years; but whereas the deed conveying said real pro-
perty to said Margaret Petter, if any there was, has not been
found; and whereas the parties of thesecond part herein, J.
Dewey Locke and his 1 --fife, Lucille V. Locke, by deed dated 17
i'ay, 1947 and recorded in Deed Book 257, page 106, YoCracken
County Court Cler'k's Office, acquired the title to said real
property which was owned by the said I.:argaret Petter at the brae
of her death.
AND 'iJHEREAS, the City of Faducah has no interest or claim
to the hereinafter described real estate and is willing to execute
a ruit claim deed in order to perfect the record title of said
J. Dewey Locke and wife, Lucille V. Locke.
NOW PHEREFORE, LE IT ORDAINED Ef 'HE BOARD OF COi:'I&jj0NERS
)P THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City of i-aducah, for and in consideration of the
ium of One (;11.CO) Dollar to be paid to it by J. Dewey Locke and
rife, Lucille V. Locke, remise, release and quit claim unto the
aid J. Dewey Locke and wife, Lucille V. Locke, any and all ri--ht

title and interest which said city may have in and to a certain
lot or parcel of land lyin` and beinC in the City of Paducah,
"cCracken County, 7:entucky, beim more particularly described
as follo�rs, to -wit:
"A certain parcel of land known as Lot J-22, in
Robertson's addition to the City of Paducah, said
lot t-eing shown as Lot j;2.2, Addition ISl to the
City of Faducah, on Harrington's official map of
Paducah, and bounded and described as follows:
Commencing at a point on the northerly line of
Elizabeth street, said point bein~ 340 feet '."est
of the Northwest corner bf the intersection of
6th and Elizabeth Streets; thence with the north-
erly line of Elizabeth Street in a '°esterly dir-
ection a distance of 50 feet; thence at ris_ht
angles in a Northerly direction a distance of
151 feet and 6 inches; thence at richt angles
in an 2asterly direction a distance of 50 feet;
thence at right anCles in a Southerly direction
a distance of 151 feet and 6 inches to the point
of beginning,; being in all respects a part of the
same property conveyed to P. D. Ceiser, Trustee
in Trust for the City of Faducah by deed of the
1.7as ter Commissioner of the 1-icCracken Court of
Common Pleas, dated April 25, 1884, recorded in
Commissioner's Deed Book 2, page 100, I::cCracken
County Court Clerk's Office; and being in all
respects the same property as conveyed to J. Dewey
Locke and his wife, Lucille V. Locke by Frank Elack
and his wife, Pearl black by deed dated 17 Nay, 1947,
and recorded in ?peed Book 257, page 106, McCracken
Countj Court Clerk's Office."
And the I:ayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute,
for and on behalf of the City of Paducah a quit claim deed to the
above described property.
SEC TION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
