AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CLOSING OF CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF TULLY STREET, RUSHING STREET AND FLOURNOY STREET
FOR THE ESTABLISHT.'ENT CF AN ADDITION T:1 OAK GROVE CUMETERY
TO BE KNOWN AS "RUSHING ADDITION"; DEDICATING THE LANDS JITHIN
SAID ADDITIOi FOR USE Aa C&:ETERY PROPERTY; APPROVING THE PLAT
OF RUSHING ADDITION TO OAK GROVE CETZETERY PREPARED BY T. A.
BRADLEY, CITY ENGINEER IN APRIL 1947; AND APPROVING THE GRAVES,
K-ONUNENT AND BARKER PLAN TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE SALT; A:m USE OF
CEIMETERY LOTS 47ITHIN SAID ADDITION IN ACCORDANCE 71ITH A PLAT
REFERRED TO AS THE "LAY OUT PLAN OF GRAVES, MONUMENTS AND
MARKERS" IN RUSHING ADDITION TO OAK GROVE CEMETERY AS PREPARED
BY T. A. BRADLEY, THE CITY ENGINEER IN MAY, 1947
ll:"REAS, the Engineering Department of the City of
Paducah has completed the preliminary boundary survey from
which a plat of RushinE Addition has been prepared, the same
nomprising certain lands for use as burial property adjoining
the Oak Grove Cemetery, and in order to establish an addition
to said cemetery it is necessary that a portion of Tully Street,
Rushing street and Flournoy street be closed; and,
"1HEREAS, itis contemplated that after the plat of the
addition to be known as "Rushing Addition", together with the
Graves, IGonument.and Marker plan to be followed therein have
been approved, grades on the proposed streets will be established,
the burial lots within those portions of Tully street, Rushing
street and Flournoy street to be closed will be staked out
and rules and regulations for the sale of burial lots in said
addition will be adopted.
NOVI TI-IEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by THE BOARD OF
COPIMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SEC TION 1.
That for the purpose of establishing an addition to
Oak Grove Cemetery to be known as "Rushing Additions certain
portions of Tully street, Rushing street and Flournoy street
are hereby ordered to be closed and said streets closed hereby
are more particularly described as follows:
RUSHINC- STREET
(1) Beginning at the north east corner of the intersection of
Rushing street and Flournoy street; thence in an easterly
direction and alon4 the north property line of Rushing
street 370.451 to the north west corner of the intersection
of :cushing street and Tully street; thence in a southerly
direction and along the west property line of Tully street
if extended 60, to the south west corner of the intersection
of Rushing street and Tully street; thence in a westerly
direction and alon;r the south property line of hushing
street 370.451 to the south east corner of the intersection of
Rushin street and Flournoy street; thence in a northerly
direction and olon- the east property line of Flournoy street
if extended 601 to the point of beginning.
FLOURNOY STREET
(2) Beginning at a point in the east property line of Flournoy
street 1751 south of the south east corner of the inter-
section of Plournoy street and Fourteenth street; thence in
a southerly direction and along the east property line of
Flournoy street 2201 to the south property line of Rushing
street if extended; thence in a viesterly direction and with
the south property line of Rushing street, if extended 601
to the west property_ line of Flournoy street; thence in a
northerly direction and with the west property line of
Flournoy street 2201; thence in an easterly direction and
parallel with l-ourteenth street 60T to the point of
beginning.

Beginning at a point on the wrest property line of Tully
avenue 1751 south of the south west corner of the intersection
of Tully avenue and Fourteenth street said point being on the
south side of a 151 alley; thence in an easterly direction and
parallel with Fourteenth street 30' to the center line of
Tully avenue; thenve in a northerly direction and with the
center line of Tully avenue 201; thence in an easterly
direction and parallel with 14th street 30, to a point
in the east property line of Tully avenue said point'being
1551 south of the southeast corner of the intersection of
Tully avenue and Fourteenth street and being in the south
line of a 151 alley; thence in a southerly direction and
with the east property"line of Tully avenue 157,; thence
in a south westerly direction along the southeasterly
property line of Tully avenue and along the northviest line
of a lot sold to the City of Paducah by Ed D. Trovathan and
wife, February 19, 1946, and recorded in Deed Book 242, page 2
in McCracken County Court Clerk's Office 80f; thence in a
southerly direction and with the east property line of Tully
avenue 195, more or less to a point in the north line of a
151 alley, said point being 165+ from Fark avenue; thence
in a westerly direction and along a line 165' from and paralle
to Park avenue 401 more or less to the east line of The
Mausoleum Addition to Oak Grove 6emetery and the west property
line of Tully avenue; thence in a~northerly direction and
along the west property line of Tully avenue 4351 more or less
to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2.
That the City of Paducah approve, adolit and establish
as an addition to Oak Grove Cemetery to be known as "Rushing
Addition" all of those lands as shown upon the plat of Rushing
A,ldition to Oak Grove Cemetery prepared by T. A. Bradley, the
City Engineer in April, 1947, which plat is here referred to and
made a part of this ordinance and as evidence of the approval
and adoption of said plat the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and empowered to subscribe their names thereon as
approving the same for and on behalf of the City of Paducah,
and that all of the lands embraced within said plat be dedicated
for use as cemetery property the same to be sold upon such terms
and the sale thereof to be subject to such rules and regulations
as may be prescribed by ordinance.
SECTION 3.
That the City of Paducah further approve and adopt
a plan for the location of ,raves, monuments and markers in
accordance with a plat of said plan prepared by T. A. Eraley,
City Lnl-ineer in '.'ay, 1947, the same being here referred to and
nsee a part of this ordinance and desiZnated, as sho::n thereon,

as the "Lay -Out Plan of Graves. Monuments and 25arkers in rtushing
Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery", and the t,:ayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and empowered for and on behalf of the
City of Paducah to subscribe on said Lay -Out Plan their siznatures
as evidence of the approval of said plans b;; the city.
