HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 879, No Ordinance Number879 A --- AN ORDINAiXE AUTHORIZING THE CIT`f MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AILD EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR TIIE PURCHASE OF OASOLINE AND OIL FROM THE PHILLIPS PETROLEUI+I COMPADY, FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR (4) MONTHS FROIA JUNE L5th, 1943, AND PRESCRIBING TIIE TERMS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT ORDAINED B`1 THE BOARD OF COI:IN,I33IONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City IBanager be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into and execute with the Phillips Petroleum Company a contract for the purchase b;; the City upon its order the gasoline and oil required for all governmental operations during a period of four (4) months from June 15th, 1943, said contract to contain the following terms, conditions and covenants: - "The Company hereby agrees to sell And deliver to the City upon its order the gasoline and motor oil required for all governmental operations during a period of four (4) months dnom June 15th, 1943, at the following prices Gasoline . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .14¢ Per Gal First Crade Motor Oil .369 it " Second Grade Mister Oil .23y " if "Payment shall be made by the City lot later than the tenth of each month for the amount of pnoducts sold and delivered during the preceding month. A discount of to shall be allowed for all oil purchased Burin,•-, any month if payment is made on or before the 10th day of the next month. "In consideration of the Agreement of the City to purchase of the Company all of the gasoline and motor oil re- wuired for use during the aforesaid period, the Company agrees that in the event of a general advance in the retail price of gasoline or motor oil at any time during the•raforesaid period, the Company's obligation to sell and deliver gasoline and oil at the aforesaid prices shall remain and continue ihn full force and effect, but in the event of a decline in the retail price of either of said products, the city shall be given the benefit of the reduction in price. SECTION 2.
