A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS!
FOR THE PURCHASE OF GASOLINE AND OIL TO BE USED BY THIS CITY OF
PADUCAH IN ALL OF ITS GOVERITMENTAL
OPERATIONO FOR A PERIOD Or,I-'OUR
I,40NTHS BEGINNING JUNE 15th, 1943
MEREAS; it is provided under Section 89,590 of the 1942
Revision of the Kentucky Statutes that "before a city of the second)
class shall enter into any contract involving the expenditure of
iimore than :1000 the Board of Commissioners shall by resolution
specify the nature of the work to be contracted for, or the quality

and quantity of the supplies or material to be purchased, and
authorize the City ISanager to advertise for and receive bids under
seal for the execution of such work or the purchase of such supplies
or na terial;" and,
I.IHEREAS, the purchase of gasoline and oil in quantities sufficient
i
for governmental use over a period of four months will involve an
expenditure of more than :'1000.00;
1d01-7, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:

�i That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized and
)empowered to advertise for bids for the purchase of gasoline and
Jloil to be used by the City of Paducah in all of its governmental
operations for a period of four (4) months beginning June 15th, 1943,

He will advertise for regular gasoline and also for both first grade
second grade motor oil, sealed in drums, by a notice posted

at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the request fort
bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notices shall

be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of,
bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date

which whic resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All

received by the City 1;anager up to the time fixed in the notice

the opening of bids shall be filed with the board of commissioners
who may let the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders.
The right shall be reserved to reject any and all bids and all bids

provide a guarantee against
advance in the market price, and
ilalso
of a reduction in price in the event of a decrease in hhe
market price of gasoline and oil.

This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and aftgr
