SECTION 1.
That the City 1-anaZer be and he is hereby authorized
to employ in the Legal "enartmen't of the City of Paducah, __entucky,
::n attorney to be known as the Delinquent Tax At':orney who shall
i'
have complete char,_e and supervision of the collection of all
delinquent ad valorem taxes and public :improvement assessments
levied ara:inst real estate and the filing and prosecution of stats
for the enuorcenent of liens securing the payment of such taxes

asses oricnl..s. It shall be his duty (1) to keep an accurate

gas been :^eyer-ed to the lel-al recartment, the amount of the
i -ares owing- by such person, the name of the Assistant ^a.c Attorney
o whom the case has been assi,;ned and the status of each case,
(')to appear at sales held by the (;:aster Commissioner and submit
bids for the City in amounts approved by the City ISanager, (3)
!to prepare orders of distribution and perform all legal services
necessary in connection wit}i the distribution of the proceeds of
,!sale in each case after confirmation of the sale, and (4) to
prepare and submit to the City 1'.anaCer each month or at such !
'other times as he may require a report concernin,7 the status
of all cases which have teen referred to the le`al department.

3ECT:IOW 2
The person a_ -pointed as Delinquent Tax Attorney shall
be -paid for his 'services a salary in the sum of :150.00 per
'month, said salary to be paid to him at the same time and in

,the same manner as other employees of the City are paid.
3ECTIO3,, 3.

The City=-anager is further authorized to employ not

exceeding five attorneys to �:10rlt as assistants to the Delinquent
Tax Attorney and to institute and brosecute under his si,nervision
all suits .for the enforcement of liens against real estate securing
Ithe payment of ad valorar taxes anr': ?public itaprover: cnt assess-
r,onts. They shall not :e ,uic3 n ::clary but shall receive a fee
in the sun of °35.00 for each tax suit which is closed. Upon

receipt of a tax bill, it shall be the duty of the Ar. sista.t to
examine the title to the property securin,,, the payment of :.uch
taxes and to proceed with the enfor'ccment of the lien by filinc
an amended petition in the action of the City of Paducah vs. I
J. Port Avell, et al. and in the actions which have been consolic,aled
therewith under orders of the t,:cCracLen Circuit Coazrt. !,or
services rendered examinin7 the title to propert/ listed on the
tax ball and filinr_- an amended petition, the attorney sivail be
entitled to a fee :in the sum of .;15.00, the sarie to be paid on
the first of each month after the account therefor has been

interest in or a lien against the property were joined as defenda-Its
under the amended petition and were properly before the court befoie
a judgnent was entered, and that the proceedings under which the
property was sold were in all respects regular. in the event a to
suit is settled or the taxpayer aCr^es to make payments upon terms
satisfactory to the City after an amended petition is filed but
before a judCment is entered against him, the attorney filing such
amended petition shall not be enti-led to receive any additional
compensation for services rendered durin,: the pendency of the actin.
If the City ::;ana er shall employ as an Assistant To,,:
Attorney an attorney who now represents t,e city and has heretofore
filed amended petitions for the enforcement of the tax liens a,-ain,t
real estate, said attorney shall receive a fee of only 'x20.00 for
services rendered in the closing of each of such pending cases,
the payment to be made to him upon the f'ilinL of the order of
distribution.

All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed,
