AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF COTTON & ESKEVI
CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, TO MAKE AIT AUDIT OF THE ACCOUNTS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR THE YEAR 1942, AND PROVIDING FOR TILE
PAYMENT THEREOF BY SAID CITY
WHEREAS, certain bids have been submitted by Certified
Public Accountants for the auditing of all accounts of the City of
Paducah for the year 1942, and it appearing that the bid of Cotton
& Eskew in the amount of $2,100.00 is the lowest and best; and,
WHEREAS, the law required thqt an audit be prepared
annually, such audit of the amoounts of all city officers to be
made by qualified public accountants,.NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CO1,&.1ISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:

SECTION 1.

That Cotton & Eskew, Certified Public Accountants, be and
they are hereby employed to make an audit of the accounts and i
affairs of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the year 1942 in
i
accordance wit their written proposal for the price of $2100.00
and the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into and sign
a contract with said public accountants for the preparat=ion of
said audit. Said Contract shall provide for the preparation of
an audit in compliance with all of the provisions of Section
I
3235dd-39 of the Kentucky Statutes, and said auditors shall
furnish to the City in pamphlet form 100 copies of said audit,
one (1) to be published in the official newspaper, and a copy
to be available to each voter who may apply for same at the office
of the City Manager. Said contract shall also provide for the
furnishing to the city eight (8) copies of the transcript of the
Auditor's work sheet, one (1) copy to be .furnished to the Mayor,
the members of the Board of Commissioners, the City Manager and
the City Treasurer.

SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting
i
of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for not less than
one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which
it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted, said
ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
