AN ORDINANCE AUTIiORIZING TATs AC"DPTAPPCE OF TITLE TO A TRACT
OF LAND, l'JITHOUP COST TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, FOR THE ESTABLISIIIMT
AND OPERA^_ION OF THE PLAYGROUND TO BE IfNOWN AS THE PADUCAH MIICI-
PAL GOLF COURSE, AND PROVIDING FOR TIIE APPOINTMEa;T OF COI,II:IS:IONERS

TROL OF SAID GOLF COURSE; AND FIXING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF SUCH

11=, REAS, the Paducah Junior Chamber of Commerce proposes to
purchase a certain tract of land for the establishment of a
,Municipal golf cowrse, to raise or borrow the funds with which to
pay for the lands to be acquired for such purpose, and has a -reed to
convey said land to the City of Paducah, free and clear of all
liens and encumbrances, upon the following terms and conditions:
I. That the consideration to be paid for said land shall
be One ($1.00) Dollar cash, the receipt of vihich the Paducah Junior
Chamber of Commerce .:ill acknowledge, together with other good and
valuable consideration, upon the acceptance of the City of Paducah
of the deed .ander which said lands shall be conveyed.
II. That the City of Psducah shall cause to be appointed a
Golf Commission of not more than (5) members who will serve without
corapensation, the first board to serve for a period of four (a)
,gears, and thereafter there shall aotomatically be created a
vacancy in said board every two (2) years, such vacancies to be
filled by the appointment of the i.:ayor vrith the approval of the City
Commis^ioners, or such other �;overning authority as the city rAay
'have at said time.
III. That all revenue derived from the operation of said
golf course shall be retained by the Board of Trustees to be
composed of no -P more than three (3) members selected and approved
by the _-rantor, the Paducah 0'un or Chamber of Commerce, who shall

hold their terms as said Trustees at the will of, or for such tern
and subject to removal by the Grantor, and any and all vacancies
I
occurring in such Board of Trustees shall be filled by the Grantor.
IV. That the City of Paducah shall at no time make any
appropriation or contribution toward the purchase price, equipment,
improvement or management of said golf course, and said city shall
not assume any liability whatever in connection with the operation
and management of said ,golf course;
V. That in the event the Grantor, Paducah 0iinior Chamber
of Commerce, shall decide to abandon the golf course project after
the accuisition o" property to be conveyed to the City of Paducah,
all ri^ t, title and interest in said property shall reiz?ain vested
.n the City of Paducah, the same to be used, sold or clisposed of by

it in any manner as said city may deem proper.

SECTIOSI 1.
That the City of Paducah hereby agrees, subject to all of th
terms and conditions above set out, to accept title to that tract
of land which the Paducah Junior Chamber of Commerce proposes to
convey to it for the purpose of establishing a golf course to be
known as the Paducah Municipal Golf Course, There is hereby
created a Board of 1.:unicipal Golf Course Commissioners, which shall
consist of five (5) members, who shall be citizens of the City of
Paducah. The membars of said board shall be appointed by the Mayo
with the approval of the Commissioners of the City of Paducah. The
members first e.opointed upon the taking effect of this ordinance
shall be appointed as follows:
One member for four (4) years
One member for six (o) yeafs
One member for eight(S) years
ne member for ten (10) years
One member for twelve (12) years
respectively, and thereafter there shall automatically be created
a vacancy in said !.oard each trio (2¢ years, said vacancies to be
filled by appointment of the .;ayor with the approval of the Board
of Commissioners or such other governing body as the city may have
at that time. The members of said Board of 11unicipal Golf Course
Commissioners shall serve without compensation and shall have no
duties except those herein provided.
SECTION 2.
There shall be appointed by the Paducah Junior Chamber of
Commerce a Board to be Imown as the Board of Trustees of the
t.:unicipal Golf Course, which Board sl -,all serve without compensation
and shall consist of not more than three (3) members to hold theme
offices at the will of, or _^or such term, and subject to the
approval of the Paducah Junior Chamber of Commerce, and any vacan-
cies occurring in said Board of Trustees shall be filled by the
Paducah Junior Chamber of Commerce. Said Board shall collect all
revenues derived from the operation of said golf course, and they
shall have the full and complete control and management of all
properties and equipment used in connection with the operation of
said golf course. Said Board of Trustees shall submit to the
Board of Idunicipal Course Commissioners on the first of each month
hereafter a statement in writing showing the progress made in the

development of said project, and the condition of the finances in
connection with the establishment and maintenance of said project,
and said Board of ISunicipal Gold Course Conmiis:3ioners may advise
:,ith anri male recommendations to said Board of Trustees as to all

improvements desired or necessary in connection with the construct
ion and maintenance o: said golf course, but said Board of I.I.i.c-
ipal Golf Course Commissioners shall not have authority to act in
any other capacity.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
