THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KL_iTUCIIY.
.aC ^_ON 1.
There shall be created and maintained in and as
a part of the Police Department of the City of Paducah
the office of City Jailer, and the City !.ana er is hereby
authorized to appoint a suitable person to fill that position.
It shall be the duty* of the City Jailer to take charge of
and ward all prisoners corunitted to city ,jail, and all
prisoners committed to the city jail, :hether in compliance
with any order of the City i.ourt, or for the purpose of
detention av!aitin” trial, shall Lc in the charSe of and
under the supervision of the City Jailer, subject, howeber
to the orders of the City Court. The City Jailer shall
also assist with the supervision and feedin_ of the
prisoners committed to the city jail and he shall do such
worlk as may be required of him by the Chief of "Police and
the City I:ianager.
3E'C TION 2.
The City Jailer shall be a member of the Police
Department o" the City of Paducah, and as such shall be
subject to all of the civil service rules and re_-ulations
governing cities of the second class. He shall h ave power
to make arrests and to perform any of the duties of a regularly
qualified policeman or patrolman, and he shall be responsible
to the Chief of Police respecting the supervision of prisoners
and the maintenance of the City Jail.
SEC T? Oi 13.
Upon the appointment of a tits Jailer, the ratilc and
position of persons servin, in the Police Denartment, and, the
order of their seniority shall be as follows: -
1.9t. - Chief of Police
2nd. - Assistant Chief of Police
3rd. - C:?ief of Detectives
4th. - -Director of Identification
5th. - Captains
sth. - Lieutenants
7th. Fi City Jailer

SEC TI OI? 4. ,
The City Jailer shall execute a bond in the penal
sum of ;;1000.00, and shall be required to execute the same
in accordance with the lay; for the faithful performance of
his duties.
SEC TI 02; 5.
The person appointed as City Jailer shall be
paid for his services the sum of ,;120.00 per month, said
salary to be paid to him at the same time and in the same
manner as other employees are paid.
SEC TIOid 6.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict hcre,vith are to the extent of such conflict hereby
repealed.
SEC TIO?? 7.
This ordinance shall be in .full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
