That a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION DIRECTING TIS Ci

7-oard of Commissioners on June 2 4th, 1942, be and the same is hereby
a:•iended so that said Resolution as ay.ended shall read as follows:
"Section 1. That the City I:anaL;er shall not suspend until
August 1st, 1942, the payment of funds for the use and benefit of
poor, indi3ent and sick persons requiring medical treatment,
hosnitalization and financial assistance, or the payment of the
salaries to the city physicians, welfare workers, and other persons
:'h o have been receiving compensation for work performed in the var
branches of charity and social service heretofore maintained by the
'City.

That the County Judge and the Fiscal Court of 7ScCracken
County, Kentucky, be requested to assume on August 1st, 1942, the
entire responsibility for the care, maintenance and hospitalization
of all sick, indigent and poor persons within the City of Paducah asi
they are required by lair to do. It is the object and purpose of thel
amendment to this resolution to give the Piscal Court su=ficient ti e
,to consider its legal responsibility to make provision for the sick,
!indi-ent and poor, and by this request, the city indicates its
1willincness to take up negotiations with the County in the hope that.

the parties may be able to reach an agreement under which the County;
;will assume a fair share of the responsibility in the matter of
providinZ for the care, treatment and manntenance of the Rick,
�Iindigent�and Door.

SECTION 2.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
