711{EREAS, under an opinion of the Court of Appeals in

the case of City of Richmond, et al., vs. I."adison County b'iscal Courlt,
decided on February 24th, 1942, the Court held that it was the duty
of q Fiscal Court to make provision for the care, maintenance and I
hospitalization of the sick and poor in the entire county, including
inc'iEent residents of any city located in such county;

3ECTIOli 1.

That the City Irtanager be, and he is hereby directed
to suspend on July let, 1942 the nayment of funds in any amount for
the use and benefit of any poor, indiGent or sick persons requiring.
medical treatment, hospitalization, or financial assistance of any
!cind in the City of Faducah, and that he also suspend on said date

the payment of the salaries to the City Phys-icians, welfare worlcdrs
and all other persons who have been receiving compensation for work)
performed in any branch of charity or social service heretofore
maintained by the city.

3EC TION 2.
That the County Judge and the Fiscal Court of
McCracken County, Kentucky, be reo_udsted to assume on July 1st,
1942, the entire responsibility for the care, maintenance and

hospitalization of all sick, indient and poor persons within
I
!the corporate limits of the City of Paducah by makinf proper
and suitable provision therefor, and that a certified copy of this
resolution ce transmitted to the County Judie.
SECTIOr{ 3.
This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its acloption.
