AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE APPOR'IONMENT OF THE
PUBLIC FUNDS OF THECITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1939,
APPROPRIATING THE PUBLIC REVENUE AND INCOT,E OF ME CITY TO SUCH
IIPURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI MISSION E_,S
IIOF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
The public funds and revenues of the City of
�Paducah, ICentucky, for the definite purposes and under the definite
(heads and departments pursuant to a budget prepared and submitted
by the City I:Ianager to the Board of Corrsissioners shall be appor-
itioned and appropriated as follows, to-uit:

Under Account 309 ('.7orks Progress Administration
Projects) an item of 196000.00 appears, which is for permanent
improvement.
SECTION 2.
The apportionment and appropriation of the public funds
and revenues of the City of Paducah for the year 1939, pursuant to
request contained in the resolutions adopted by the Board of Edu-
cation of the City of Paducah, and the levy suggested by said Board
of Education of such purposes, including the rates of said levies
as approved and established by the Board of Commissioners of said
City, and to that extent only, shall be added to and included in the
tax bills for said years, and collected by the City Treasurer and
accounted for as collected, and as required by law to the Eoard of
Education of said City,- except that so much of said taxes as are
levied and collected for interest and sinking fund purposes, and
for the payment of school improvement bonds shall be retained by the

City Treasurer and apportioned and applied to said accounts; and
except further that so much of said levy of said taxes as applies
to and is for the interest and benefit of the Teachers Retirement
Fund, which shall be paid by the City of Paducah to the Teachers
thereof; and provided further that the levy for the benefit of the
Paducah Junior College shall be paid by said City to the Treasurer
of said college.
SECTION 3.
That on the 15th day of December, 1939, an approximate
estimate shall be made of the amount necessary to pay maturing
claims until the 1st day of January, 1940, and all accounts of said
actual needs shall be converted into the General Funds of the City
for the purpose of taking up and discharging obligations of the
City.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall be introduced at a Regular meeting
of the Board of Commissioners, and shall remain on file for not les
than one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in
which it shall be put upon its final passage, and upon its adoption:

it shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter, and
the rate of compensation of pay embracing increases or decreases
shall as to such increases or decreases not otherwise fixed by
ordinance, be effective from and including the lot day of May,1939.
