AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEHTIONS 2 AND 3 OF AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED: 'AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING AND REGULATING THE INSTALLATION
AND INSPECTION OF ALL ELECTRICAL WIRING AND APPLIANCES WITHIN THE 2
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, PROVIDING FOR All` 321�

WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, ON THE 7TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1937
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That Sections 2 and 3 of an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE
GOVERNING AND REGULATING THE INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION OF ALL
ELECTRICAL WIRING AND APPLIANCES WITHIN THE CO�PORATE LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTPdENT OF AN
ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR, FIXING HIS RATE OF PAY AND ESTABLISHING FEES
AND CHARGES FOR MAKING INSPECTIONS", which was adopted by the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, on the 7th day
of September, 1937, be, and the same are hereby amended and reordained
so that said sections as amended and reordained shall.read as follows:
"Section 2. For the purpose of carrying into effect the
provisions of this ordinance the position of Electrical Inspector
is hereby created and established, said Electrical Inspector to be

appointed by the City Manager, and he shall be a person qualified to
perform the ditues required in Section 1 hereof, and in addition
thereto said Electrical Inspector shall collect and account for the
fees and charges provided in Section 3 hereof® For his services said
Electrical Inspector shall be paid at the end of each month a sum in an
amount equal to sixty-six & two -Thirds (66-2/3) per c ant of the fees
collected and turned into the City Treasury. Should the City Manager
appoint a member of the police force or other employee of the City of
Paducah to serve as Electrical Inspector the person so appointed shall
make inspections while off duty and he shall not perform any of the duties
of Electrical Inspector while engaged in his regular employment with
the City.
"Section 3. For making electrical inspections as provided
in Section 1 hereof, there shall be charged to each person ovining or
having property inspected the following rates for said services
to -wit:

For each inspection of property with wiring
thereof, and to include not over a 3 circuit
job . . . . .$2.00
For each additional circuit on such job .. . .50 is
For inspection of electric signs, each 1.00
For re -inspections, each .. . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.00
For inspection of range service, where
installed after original installation has
been completed . . . . . .1.00
When the inspector has made an inspection he shall give
to the owner, or person in charge of the property, a certificate
stating that he has so inspected said property, and showing whether
of not he has approved or condemned the electric wiring. All charges
for inspections of every kind should be collected by the inspector and
reported and paid to the City Treasurer, giving the name of the person
whose property is inspected, the location of the property, the date of
inspection and th6 amount collected or charged. The Inspector shall
have the right, and is hereby expressly giv6n the r ight, power and
authority to enter all premises in the name of the City for the purpose
of making such inspections.
"The inspdctor shall execute a bond in the sum of One
Thousand ($1000.00) Dollars for the faithful performance of his
duties and the accounting of any and all fees paid to or collected
by him."
SECTION 2.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
