A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND ET,IPOWERING JAT,1EE P. SMITH,
CITY MANAGER, TO RECEIVE BIDS AOR THE LEASING OF CERTAIN FURNISHINGS,
INCLUDING X-RAY EQUIPMENT, TO BE USED IN THE NEW RIVERSIDE HOSPITAL
ADDITION; PRESCRIBING THE 'PERMS FOR THE LEASING OF SAID PROPERTY
WITH THE OPTION TO THE CITY TO BECOME THE PURCHASER UPON THE
COMPLIANCE WITi CERTAIN CONDITIONS TO BE STATED IN THE ADVERTISEIdBNT
FOR SAID BIDS; AND PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WT1ICH SAID BIDS
SHALL BE RECEIVED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COM1,1ISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
Mat James P. Smith, City Manager, of the City of Paducah,
be, and he is hereby authorized, for and on behalf of said city,
to receive bids for the leasing of furnishings, including X -Ray
equipment, to be used in the new Riverside Hospital Addition,
said furnishings and x-ray equipment being more particularly
described in the attached statement of specifications, which
statement is made apart hereof to the same extent as if fully
copied herein.
SECTION 2.
The advertisement for said bids sha'.1 set out generally
the kind of furnishings and x-ray equipment which the city desires
to lease, and any person interested in submitting a bid shall be
notified by said advertisement that an exact description of said
property may be obtained at the office of the City Manager.
It shall be further stated in said advertisement that the successful
bidder will be required to enter into and execute a lease, contract
and option containing terms and conditions satisfactory to the
Board of Commissioners, and that the City shall not be bound
until such contract is executed pursuant to an ordinance adopted
by said Board.
SECTION 3.
One-fourth (1/4) of that amount representing the total
purchase price for said property and x-ray equipment shall be paid
thirty (30) days after its delivery and acceptance by the City, the

balance to be paid in equal monthly installments thereafter over a
period of two (2) years provided the city exercises its option to
IJ I (i renew said lease in accordance with the terms of the contract to
7 be entered into between the City and the successful bidder.
SECTION 4.
For the purpose of carrying this resolution into effect,
the City Manager is authorized and directed to advertise for and

accept all bids under seal and which bids shall not be opened until
10;00 o'clock A.M. on the day set for receiving such bids, or at
such other hour as the Board Of Commissioners may hereafter dete
rmi e
for the receipt and opening of said bids. No bid shall be received
it after the hour set for opening same. the City Manager shall adver-
tise in such manner as may be deemed advisable for the receipt of
'bids, but the opening of bids shall not occur within ten (10) days
from the date of such advertisement. Each bidder shall set forth
his lowest price witti payments to be made in accordance with the
terms of the Lease, Contract and Option under which the rental
installments will be paid. The City shall reserve the right to
reject any and all bids.
