DEED TO SAID ?nOPE:RTY
VIHERFSS, the City of Paducah, under an or•d1nance duly
adopted by its Board of Commissioners, has ai,thorized the
closin* of all of that portion of Clark Street east of the cen-
ter line of the flood protection wall in Section '7" as S' own
on thb plat of said flood orotect'on wall on file in the office
of the Cit:- ::ana;er and in Une office of the ' nited States
Fn3ineers in Paducah, Kentucky, and also all of that portion of
First Street from the south s' de of :1ashinmton Street to tIe
south side of Clark Street; and,
V.MLxEAS, the Koppers Company,b e_1 n.-; the owner of all of
the property abuttin- upon said streets _proposed to be closed,
has agreed that it will not make any claim for damages as the
result of t' e c.losin7 of said streets in consideration of t`ie
release by the City of Paducah of its r -1 -ht, title and :interest
in and to all of the land lyin-, east of First Street between
Vlashington Street and Clark Street; and,
l'11IEREAS, the said Koppers Company is also the owner of
all of said land lying, east of First Street between ':.ashin7ton
and Clark Streets, t oZether with certain other property which is
used as a dock yard for the building and repairin.- of bar^es,
said property being known as the "t.:arine 'Plays", but it appears
in certain of the deeds through which said company acquired
title a, provision to the effect that in the event said property
shall noL be used as a .:arine Play, the title thereto shall revert
to the City; 11,'OW, THEREFORE,

That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the considera-
tion hereinabove set out, release to the Ke-)pers Company all
of its ri.-lit, title and Interest in and to that tract or
parcel of land in Paducah, Kentucky, lyin_ East of First Street
uet,-ieen l.iashin,,ton and Clark Streets, s aid tract of land em-
braci.nL lots described as Lots Fos. 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24
as s'•own by plat of the Cld Town Addition to the City of Paducah,

dKentucky, on .file in the office of the City Lh;ineer; and the
'I:`ayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and e:n7owered to
jexecute, for and onbehalf of the City of Paducah a. quitclaim
:deed to said property to said Hoppers Company, a Delaware cor-
poration with its principal office at Pittsburg, Pennsylvania,
but reservin7to said City the ri,ht to perpotually keen and
(maintain the sew6rs now located therein.

This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
sand after its adootion.
