AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF COTTON & ESKEW,
CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, TO NIAID, AN AUDIT OF THE ACCOUNTS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR THE YEAR 1940, AND PROVIDING FOR THE
PAYMENT THEREOF BY SAID CITY
WHEREAS, certain bids have been submitted by Certified
Public Accountants for the auditing of all accounts of the City of
Paducah for the year 1940, and it appearing that the bid of Cotton
& Eskew in the amount of $1750.00 is the ]o«est and best; and,
WHEREAS, the law requires that an audit be prepared
annually, such audit of the accounts of all city officers to be
made by quailfied public accountants, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF coIl,RAISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That Cotton & Eskew, Certified Public Accountants, be,
and they are hereby employed to make an audit of the accounts
and affairs of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the year 1940
in accordance with their written proposal for the price of $;1750.00,
and the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into and sign
a contract with said public accountants for the preparation of
said audit. Said contract shall provide for the preparation of
an audit in compliance with all of the provisions of Section
3235dd-39 of the Kentucky Statutes, and said auditors shall
furnish to the City in pamphlet form 500 copies of said audit,
One (1) to be published in the official newspaper, and a copy
to be available to each voter who may apply for same at the office
of the City Manager. Said contract shall also provide for the
furnishing to the City seven (7) copies of the transcript of the
Auditor's work sheet, one (1) copy to be furnished to the Mayor,
and the members of the Board of Commissioners, the City Manager
and the City 'Treasurer.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting
of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for not less than
one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in rich
it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted, said
ordinance shall be in full f orce and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
