AN ORDINANCE ASSESSING THE ABUTTING PROPERTY ON BOTH SIDES OF
HARAHAN BOULEVARD FROM THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF JEFFERSON STREET
TO THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF CL.Y STREET IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY FOR THE PORTION OF% THE COST OF CONS
STRUCTION OF SAID SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS WITH CURB RETURNS AND CROSS
WALKS, BY THE PLACING THEREIN AND THEREON OF A CONCRETE SURFACE
TOGETHER i":ITH ALL NECESSARY DRAIN PIPES AND ALL NECESSARY ENG121-
EERING, ADVERTISING AND LEGAL AND CLERICAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION
THEREWITH UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF AN ACT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY ADOPTED AT ITS REGULAR SESSION IN
1938, PROVIDING FOR T=IE IMPROVEMENT OF PUBLIC WAYS IN CIIrIES OF
THE SECOND CLASS BY AID OF THE WORK PROJECTS AD[IiINISTRATION OR
OTHER AGENCIES OF THE FEDERAL OR STATE. (;OVERNMERT , AND AT THE
EXCLUSIVE COST OF THE OWNERS OF REAL ESTATE ABUTTING ON SUCH
IMPROVEMENT ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF' FRONT OR ABUTTING FEET,
AND PROVIDING THAT A TAX SHALL BE LEVIED UPON SAID LOTS OR PARCELS
OF REAL ESTATE FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE COST ASSESSED THEREON, WHICH
COST SHALL BE THE DIFF'�RENCE BETWEEN THE TOTAL COST OF COMPLETING
SAID IMPROVEMFN TS AND THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE
WORK PROJECTS ADMINISTRATION OR OTHER AGENCIES OF THE FEDERAL OR
STATE GOVERNMENT ENGAGED IN T.IAKING SAID 11,1PROVEMENT, AND WHICH
TAXES SHALL BE DUE AND PAYABLE AT THE OFFICE OF THE CITY TREASURER
IN THE CITY HALL IN PADUCAH; AND ALL THE WORK HAVING BEEN COMPLETED
AND THE ESTIMATED COST ASCERTAINED, AND IT BEING DETERMINED FROM
SAID ESTIMATES AFTER DEDUCTING THE AMOUNT TO BE CONTRIBUTED BY THE
WORK PROJECTS ADh'IINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES THAT THE AMOUNT
REQUIRED TO BE CONTRIBUTED BY THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON
HARAHAN BOULEVARD BETWEEN THE NORTH PROPERTY Ty INE OF JEFFERSON
STREET AND THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF CLAY STREET IN THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY., IS $0.11 PER SQUARE FOOT FOR
SIDEWALKS AND CROSS WALKS AND $0,12 PER SQUARE FOOR FOR DRIVEWAYS,
AND, WHEREAS, the Board of Co�missioners has heretofore
adopted an ordinance providing for t1 -B construction and reconstruction
of said sidewalks, driveways and cross walks ander the terms of said
Act aforesaid, and pursuant to its provisions, and,
WHEREAS, work on said improvement has been half completed,
and hereby declared by the Board of Commissioners to have been hall
completed on and before this date, and the estimated cost thereof
is now due to be paid to the City Treasurer, and the first half
thereof having been assessed at the time of commencement of said
work and the last half is due to be assessed when the work is half
completed, NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That all of the property on both sides of Harahan
Boulevard from the North property line of Jefferson Street to the
South property line of Clay Street in the City of Paducah,
McCracken County, Kentucky, as shown by estimates on file in the
Engineers office iii the City Hall in the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
be and the same is hereby assessed for the cost of construction of
said sidewalks, driveways with curb returns and cross walks with
all necessary drain pipes and all necessary engineering, advertising
and legal and clerical services in connection therewith, the portion
of said cost of improvement required to be paid by said property
owners the following amount per square foot, td) -wit:
$0.11 per square foot for didewalks and cross walks
and $0.12 per square foot for driveways; that all of said estimates
are on file in the office of the Engineering Department in the
City Hall, and are referred to and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2.
' That one-half of said assessments as against each lot
as shown by said assessment and estimate of said engineer was due
at the commencement of said work and has heretofore been assessed
and the Board of Commissioners having by this ordinance determined
that said work has been half canpleted, and the last half of said
assessment is now due to be pAid, said last half shall be paid
within 10 days after the adoption of this ordinance and unless
so paid there shall be added thereto a penalty of 6% and a lien
is declared to exist upon said lots and parcels of real estate for
the proportionate cost of said improvements so assessed as
herein provided in addition to the assessment for the first half
of the cost hereof as hereinbefore made; and the amount of said
assessment shall bear interest upon any part thereof that remains
unpaid for 10days after the same is due to be paid as herein
provided at the rate of 6% per annum in addition to the penalty
aforesaid, which liens hall be superior to all other liens
except the liens for State, County and City taxes.
SECTION 3.
The publication of this ordinance shall be notice to
all persons interested and due
to pap said assessment, of the time
and place to pay the same. Said assessment will be paid YLthin
�ften (10) days from the publication of this ordinance.

SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
