A RESOLUTION AUMORIZING AND Ei,iPOUERING JA:::ES P. STAITH, CM FZ
MANAGER, TO RECEIVE BIDS FOR TME PURCHASE OF FIRE HOSE AND OTHER NECESSARY
EQUIPP,ENT FOR USE IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY Oil, PADUCAH, AND
PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN V.h ICH SUCH BIDS SHALL BE RECEIVED 41
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable by the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Paducah to immediately purchase 4000 feet of fire hose in
order that the Fire Department may be furnished with adequate equipment
for the protection of the City of Paducah and its citizens against loss
by fire; and,
WHEREAS, by reason of the inddequate fire -fighting facilities
there exists an emergency requiring the immediate purchase of such
equipment, NOVI, THEREPORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO'17,SISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, IO✓ T FUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That James P. Smith, City I.:anager of the City of Paducah, be and
he is hereby authorized, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, to
receive bids in the aggregate sum of not more than p4,000.00 for the

purchase of fire hose and other equipment for use in the Eire Department
of the City of Paducah, and to report in writing the amount of each bid
submitted to him, together with his recommendation as to which of said
bid or bids should be accepted.
S SECTION 2.
/ ✓ _ For the purpose of carrying into effect this Resolution the City
�M �D Manager is authorized and directed to advertise for and accept all bids
under seal, and which bids shall not be opened until 10:00 o'clock A.?,:.
on the day set for receiving such bids, or at such other hour as mai* be
ifi/Jf(I determined for receiving and opening bids; and all of said sealed 'gids
or proposals shall be filed by the City Manager with his report and
recommendation. No bid shall be received in such manner as may be
deemed advisable for receipt of bids, and the opening of bids shall
not occur within ten (10) days from the date of such advertising.
SECTION 3.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and shall not
become legally obligated to purchase any equipment as proposed under then
terms of this resolution until the acceptance of a bid or bids and the
adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract or
other writing for the purchase of said equipment.
SECTION 4.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
