AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE CITY
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PROVIDING FOR THE ZONING OF
CERTAIN PROPERTY ON KENTUCKY AVENUE FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES, AND
PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY TO BE IMPOSED FOR VIOLATION OF THE
RESTRICTIONS SET FORTH IN A RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE CITY
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION ON NOVEMBER 26th, 1946
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That upon the recommendation and request of the City
Planning and Zoning Commission as shown by its final report
embodied in a resolution adopted by it on November 26th, 1946,
the following described property on Kentucky Avenue is hereby
declared to be a business district within the meaning of the
City Planning and Zoning Commission Law.
"Lying and being in the City of Paducah, McCracken County
Kentucky and beginning at a point on the south property line
of Kentucky Avenue 212+ west of the southwest corner of the
intersection of 17th street and Kentucky Avenue said point
being in the west line of the business zone as now establishe
on the south side of Kentucky Avenue; thence with said west
line in a southerly direction parallel with 17th Street to th
center line of the block between Kentucky Avenue and Washingt
Street; thence with the center line of said block in a wester
direction to a point 1501 from 19th Street; thence in a north
direction 1501 from and parallel to 19th Street to the south
property line of Kentucky Avenue; thence in a westerly direct
and with the south property line of Kentucky Avenue to the ea
property line of 19th Street; thence in a northerly direction
with the East property line of 19th Street to the center line
of the block between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue; thence in
easterly direction and with the center line of said block to
a point 1651 from 17th Street said point being in the west
line of the business zone as now established on the north sid
of Kentucky Avenue; thence in a southerly direction with said
present business zone 1651 from and parallel with 17th Street
to the south property line of Kentucky Avenue; thence in a
westerly direction and with the south property line of Kentuc
Avenue to the point of beginning.
SEC TION 2.
In order to further promote the general welfare of the
people in said district or zone and to enhance the desirability
of same, all property within said area is subject to"the follow
restrictions:
"That no person, firm or corporation shall be permitted
to construct within the aforesaid business district or
zone any building or buildings for use in connection
with the operation of a single business enterprise if
the building or all of the units comprising said business
enterprise shall cost less than $7500.00".
SEC TION 3.
Any property owner, tentnt or other person who erects,
constructs or reconstructs any building in violation of or
contrary tc the aforesaid provisions of this ordinance, shall be

deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall
be fined in any sum not less than $10.00 nor more than y100.00
for each offense so committed and each day such offense is committ(
shall be deemed a separate offense and shall be subject to a
separate penalty under the provisions hereof, or the person so
offending or so guilty of violation of the provisions hereof, may,
in addition to such fine be imprisoned not more than fifty (50)
days at the discretion of the Judge or Jury trying the case.
SEC TION 5.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
