PADUCAH BUS COMPANY, AND THE EMPLOYEES OF UAID COMPANY TO
SETTLE BY AGREEMENT THE DISPUTE BETWEEN TIIiM 7dITH REFERENCE
TO THE MAGES TO BE P' ID THE EMPLOYEES OF SAID COMPANY AND
THE VACATION PERIOD TO WHICH THEY SHALL BE ENTITLED, AND
INSTRUCTING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONFER 47ITH THE PARTIES
AND URGE THEM TO MANE EVERY EFFORT P03SIBLE TO AGREE UPON
A SETTLEMENT
'HEREAS, E.ary Deronda Stewart, Owner of the Paducah Lus
Company, and the employees of the Paducah Lus Company, members of
the local union known as Division 1190 of the Amalgamated Associa-
tion of Street, Electric Railway, and Motor Coach Employees of
America, have not reached an agreement settling the question as tc
the amount of wages to be paid to said employees and the vacation
period to which they shall be entitled, nor have they submitted
the question to an arbitration board; and,
`AFEREAS, if said dispute is not quickly settled, another
stripe is imminent and the interruption of the bus service will ca
great inconvenience, expense and damage to the citizens of Paducah
NO'.7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COLId.I.iSIONE.
OF THE CITY OP PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SEC TION 1.
That Mary Deronda Stewart, owner of the Paducah Bus Com-
pany, and the employees of said company, members of the local uniot
':mown as Division 1190 of the Amalgamated Association of Street,
EaLectric Railway, and Motor Coach Employees, be requested to im-
mediately settle by agreement the dispute between them as to the
wages to be paid said employees and the amount of vacation time
to which they shall be entitled, that each of said parties be urges
to co-operate with the other in order that said dispute may be set-
tled without a strike, and that the City Manager be instructed to
confer with said parties and offer his assistance in the negotia-
tion and make every effort possible to persuade the parties to
settle their dispute by agreement or by arbitration.
SECTION 2.
That a certified copy of this resolution be furnished to
pGary Deronda Stewart, the Secretary of Division 1190 of the imalga
/association of Street, Electric Railway, and PSotor Coach ilnployees
of America, and to ti-4 Sun-Democrat.
