AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF A PUBLIC
ALLEY SIXTEEN FEET IN WIDTH RUNNING FROM THE SOUTHERLY LINE
OF VASSEUR AVENUE 130.0 FEET ALONG THE REAR OF THE PROPERTY
OF T. A. JONES & SONS FRONTING ON THE WEST SIDE OF BRIDGE
STREET, PROVIDIN3 FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED OF DEDICATION
UNDER WHICH THE OIAFNERS OF SAID PROPERTY SHALL DEDICATE FOR
USE AS A PUBLIC ALLEY CERTAIN STRIPS OF GROUND AT THE REAR
OF THE LOTS FRONTING 182 FEET ON THE WEST SIDE OF BRIDGE STREET;
AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE IN THE
McCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT A SUIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING LEGALLY
CLOSED THE ALLEY AUTHORIZED TO BE CLOSED UNDER THIS ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY T? -E BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City of Paducah, in consideration of the
agreement of Dr. Edward Adams, et al to dedicate as a public
alley a strip of ground 16 feet in width running from the
north side of Wall Street in the rear of the lots of Dr. Edward
Adams, J. A. Kifer, Nary Daughrity, Rose PH. Harpole, and Cleve
Gilliam fronting on the ',Vest side of Bridge Street, does hereby
authorize the closing of that public alley 16 feet in width
running from the Southerly line of Vasseur Avenue 130.0 feet
along the rea r of the property of T. A. Jones 2: Sons fronting
on the West side of Bridge Street, the alley to be closed hereby
being more particularly described as follows, to -wit:
"Beginning at a point in the Southeasterly line
of Vasseur Avenue 180 feet more or less from the
Southwest corner of the intersection of Bridge
Street and Vasseur Avenue, and which point is
at the Northwest corner of a lot of land owned
by J. L. Jones, et al., on which the packing
plant of T. A. Jones and sons is located; thence
in a Southerly direction and along the rear lot
line of the lot owned by J. L. Jones, et al.,
130 feet; thence in a Southwesterly direction and
parallel with Vasseur Avenue 16 feet; thence in
a Northwesterly direction and parallel with
Bridge Street 130.0 feet to Vasseur Avenue;
thence in a Northeasterly direction and along the
Southeasterly line of Vasseur Avenue 16 feet to
the point of beginning."
And the Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized and directed
to institute in the McCracken Circuit Court a suit for the
purpose of carrying the provisions of this section into effect.
SECTION 2.
That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, accept the offer
of Dr. Edward Adams, et al to dedicate for public use and as a
public alley a strip of ground 16 feet in width running from
the North side of Wall Street along the ream of the lots of Dr.

Edward Adams, J. A. Kifer, Mary Dau.-hrity, Rose M.Harpole and
Cleve Gilliam, said strip of ground being more particularly
described as follows:

Beginninat a point in the Northwesterly
line of Wall Street 181.5 feet more or less
West of the Southwest corner of the intersection
of Wall Street and Bridge Street, and which point
is at the Southwest corner of a lot of land owned
by Dr. Edward Adams; thence in a Northwesterly
direction and parallel with Bridge Street 190.5
feet more or less to a point in the rear of a
lot owned by J. L. Jones, and which point is
130.0 feet South of Vasseur Avenue; thence in a
Southwesterly direction and parallel with Vasseur
Avenue 43.5 feet; thence in a Southeasterly direction
and parallel with Bridge Street 20.5 feet to the
Northwesterly line of a 16 foot alley; thence with
said alley and in a Northeasterly direction and
parallel with Vasseur Avenue 27.5 feet; thence in a
Southeasterly direction and parallel with Bridge
Street 170 feet more or less to the North side of
Wall Street; thence in a Northeasterly direction
16 feet to the point of beginning."

IAnd the mayor is hereb:/ authorized and empowered, for and on
behalf of the City of Paducah, to accept a deed of dedication
to the above-described strip of gr-)und which has been dedicated
as a public alley provided the closing of the aforesaid alley
in the rear of the property of the said J. L. Jones is approved
by a judgment of the Court.
SEC TION 3.
This o^dinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
