?PTERFAS, under and pursuant to ordinances adopted by th
3oard of Commissioners, certain streets have been paved by the
City of Paducah in conjunction with the ';corks Projects Administr:
at the exclusive cost of the owners of real estate abutting upon
the improvement as provided under KRS 94.290; and,
'.WHEREAS, since all of said projects have been completed,
an audit was made on June 8th, 1943 for the purpose of determinin=
the amounts which should be paid into the general fund on account of
the credits to which the City of Paducah is entitled for rentals nd
other allowances approved by the 7,orks Projects Administration du in
the proZress of the work; and,
WHEREAS, it is shown by the audit made by Mr. Lloyd
that the total cost of all of said street improvement assessmen
amounted to ''324,155.95; and,
,!"EREAS, the City. of Paducah was also required to bear
expense of assessments against school property and lots owned by
it, which expense amounted to `4,190.48; and,
iHEREAS, that part of the aforesaid total expense char. ble
to the City of Paducah for the construction of street intersecti
amounted to `38,508.42 of the aforesaid tct al expense; and,
;J'1LREAS, by reason of the conservative estimates made b
the City Engineer durinZ the proress of the work, the sum of onLy
`'223,516.40 ;,.,as assessed against the abutting property owners an
the difference of :`62,131.13 is a part of the expense which was
contributed by the City of Paducah for the use and benefit of ss d
property owners; and,

AND ;J?iEREAS, after deductinG from the aforesaid credit of
•F'•143,082.24 to which the City of Paducah is entitled the cost of
street intersections amounting to `'38;508.42, the assessments le
against school property and against lots owned bry said city amounting
to ''4,190.48, and the sum of y;62,131.13 which the City of Paducah
paid for the use a d benefit of the property owners, there remains
to the credit of the City of Paducah the sum of :5..38,252.21; and,
51hiEREAS, the total assessments levied against the owners of
property abutting upon said improvements amount to "'223,516.40
and the total sum paid by them amounts to :`;205,913.38, leav nS du
and payable upon said assessments the sum of '18,602.52; and,
XTE,4EAS, the total amount collected from said taxpayers
beim '205,913.88 and the total disbursements amountin- to '.,181,0
there is deposited at t:is time in the special street pavinZ ace
the sum of '24,840.27 and all bills owing by said city for said
improvements havin.r been paid; and,
WHEREAS, it appearing from said audit report that on
account of t`,e aforesaid credit in the sum of X143,082.24 allowed
the City of Paducah by the :dork Projects Administration, the.ge
fund is entitled to reimbursement in the sum of 4'38,252.21;
NOYJ THEREFORE, BE IT OnJ Ti,?_7 ' P`4`c BOARD OF COS7.ISSIONERS
OF THr, CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1
That the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby authorized
and empowered to ti;ansfer to the Zeneral fund and to the credit
the contingent fund for use in payment of such expense as may be
authorized by the Board of Com.nissioners Burin.- the year 1946, th
sum of '7.24,840.27 now de)osited to the hard surface street accoun
together uith such additional sums as may be collected for street
pavan! constructed by the City of Paducah in conjunction vrith the
,fork Projects ',dministrat.ion until they e h•As been paid to the ge:
fund the sum of ;,38,252.21, and said Treasurer shall hold any
excess collections subject to the further orders of the Board of
Commissioners.

As required under the provisions of -5S 89,640, the
City Clerk is hereby authorized to cause to be published in the
Sun -Democrat a notice of the introduction of t'iis ordinance and

proposal to transfer to the :;eneral fund from the special hard suface
street accou.Zt the sum of 24,.:40.27, to,ether with such addit:ionril

sums as may be collected for said street construction worir.
SECTION, 3.
All ordinances and resolutions and parts 86 ordinances
and resolutions in conflict herewith are to the extent of such
conflict hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting
of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least
seven (7) days for public inspection in its completed form in
Vnica it shall be nut upon its final passage, and if adopted it
shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
