A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY IriANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 25,000 FEET OF NO. 2 THREE INCH BRIDGE I
A7 D PRESCRIBING THE SPECIFICATION) OF THE LUMER TO BE PURCHASED.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONM3 OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY.
SECTION 1.
That the City I+ianager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for the purchase of 25,000 feet of No. 2 t
inch bridge lumber of the dimensions as follows:
(1) 91 pieces, 3 inches by 12 inches, 18 feet in length.
(2) 117 pieces, 3 inches by 12 inches, 20 feet in length.
(3) Remainder of said 25,000 feet of lumber may be of
various widths but must be 3 inches thick and 18 feet
in length.
SECTION 2.
The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted up at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the requ st
for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice sha 1
be posted and published at least seven days prior to openin_- of bid
and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which
this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under
seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the not ce
for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up
to the time fixed in the norice shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible
bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reje t
any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to
purchase said lumber until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing
the execution of a contract.
SEC TI OPi 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
