PETERS FOR THE SALE OF FIVE (5) 1946 FORD DELUXE- FORDOR SEDANS TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH BY TRADING IN FOR SAID NE101 AUTOMOL-ILES POLICE CAR # 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6, PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF THE SUM OF $2872.05 FOR PAYMENT OF THE REMAINDER OF THE PURCHASE PRICE FOR SAID NEIN AUTOMOBILES AFTER CREDIT IS GIVEN FOR THE CARS TRADED IN, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER I14TO A CONTRACT FOR THE PUP,CHASE Ti:EREOF. .l1iEREAS, under a resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners on Hay 7, 1946, the City 1;1anager advertised for bids for the purchase of 5 new automobiles to be used in the Police Department by publishin` a notice of the request for bids as required by law; and R. E. Peters bein` the only person who submitted a bid for the sale of said automooiles to the City of Paducah, and it appearing to the board that the trade-in values allowed and the prices for said new automobiles are reasonable; NOW THEREFORE BE I^i ORDAINED BY THE BOARD' OF COMMISSIONER OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. f SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of R. E. Peters in the sum of $2872.05 for the purchase of,.five (5) 1945 Ford Deluxe Sedans, said sum representing the difference between the sale price for said five (5) new automobiles and the trade- invalues allowed by the said'R. E. Peters for police car 4jl, 2, 3, 5 and 64 SECTION 2. The sum of ;2872.05 is hereby appropriated for payment of the remainder of the purchase price for the aforesaid new automobiles after allowances have been made by the said R. E. Peters for police car 7} 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 which are to be traded in by the City of Paducah, the amount thereof to be charged to the fund appropriated to the Police Department of the City of Paducah under the apportionment ordinance of 1946. SECTION 3. That the City Wanager be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into one, execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, a contract for the purchase of the aforesaid now automobiles from R. E. Peters provided said contract contains a provision under which said automobiles shall be delivered to the City of Paducah within a period of thirty (30) days from the date of contract, and provided further that said contract N07 contains such other covenants and conditions which the City 1"tanager may wish to impose. SECTION; 4. INAST+:UCH AS the Police Department of the City of iedueah must be immediately furnished with new automobiles in order to properly and efficiently patrol the streets and enforce the ordinances of the City of Paducah and the statutes of the State of Kentucky for the protection of the public health and safety, and emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. -- mayor Introduced by the Board of Commissioners, June 11, 1946.
