AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AS A PUBLIC PARKING LOT THE
GROUNDS ADJACENT TO THE CITY SCALES ON THE WEIST :TIDE OF SECOND
STREET BETVEEN `r7ASHINGTON AND KENTUCKY AVENUE 111 THE CITY OF PADUC
KENTUCKY; FIXING THE FEES TO BE CHARGED FOR TiE LARKING OF VEHICLE
TIiEREON; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF THE CIT'[ WEICHMIASTER IN CONNECT
TION WITH THE MANAGEMENT OF SAID PARKING LOT AND COLLM TING THE
FEES FOR THE USE THEREOF; AND FIXING THE PENALTIES FOR ANY VIOLATI
THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMI,3SIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, hereby dedicate
and establish for use as a public parking lot the lands owned by
it on the ':lest side of South Second Street between Kentucky Avenue
and I'Vashington streets, with the exception of that portion of said
lands on which the city scales are located, and which lands
are described as follows: -
"Beginning at a point on the Hest side of
Second Street 115.5 feet North of the North-
west corner of the intersection of Second
da d Washington Streets; thence in a Northerly
rection with the ';.'est line of second street
57.75 feet to the Sout4 line of an alley 23.25
feet in width; thence in a Viesterly direction with
the South line of said alley 173.25 feet; thence
at right a ngles and in a Southerly direction 57.75
feet; thence at right angles and in an easterly
direction 173.25 feet to the point of beginning."
SEC TION 2.
The aforesaid lot shall be available for the use of
the owner or operator of any behicle who may desire to park the same
thereon, but it shall be unlawful for such owner or operator to pa1
his vehicle on said lot between the hours of 7 A.M. and 5 P.I,`.. without
first paying* to the Citj of Paducah the sum of ten (10/) cents for the
privilege of leaving the same standing therein for a period of not
exceeding three (3) hours, and the sum of twenty-five (25�) cents lor tha
privilege of leaving the same standing therein for a period not ex-
ceeding twelve (12) hours. It shall also be unlawful for the ownel
or operator to leave his vehicle parked or standing on said lot foil
a longer period than that for which he has paid as provided under the
terms of this ordinance.
SEC TION 3.
The City Teighmaster shall have complete charge and
control of the public parking lot and shall collect all fees for
the parking of vehicles thereon, which fees shall be paid into and
become a part of the -eneral fund. 'It shall be his duty to submit
to the City Treasurer on the first of each month a written report
showing the number of vehicles parked on said lot during the

Preceding month and the period of time each was left standing
therein, and he shall remit to the city treasurer on that date th
amount collected by him.
SECTION 4.
Any person violating or failing to comply with any
provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and,
upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not les;
than rive (15.00) Lollars and not more than Ten (';10.00) Dollars,
or imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not exceeding
fifty (50) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
