AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE CITY SCALES; FIXING THE FEES
FOR TEE USE THEREOF, AND PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF CITZ WEIGHr.1A
IN THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF THE SCALES; AND FIXING THE
PENALTIES FOR ANY VIOLATION THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMlISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SEC TION 1.
The city scales shall be maintained for the use of the
owner or operator of any horse-drawn wagon, motor truck, or any
pther vehicle who desires to weigh his load, but it shall be un-
lawful for the owner or operator to use said scales without paying
the :reighmaster a fee of Twenty-five (25/) cents for weighing the
load or contents of any wagon, or the load or contents of any
motor truck of a tonage not exceeding one and one-half (#z) tons,
Fifty (50�) cents for weighing the load or contents of any motor
truck of a tonage exceeding one and one-half (12)• tons, and
seventy-five (75y) cents for the weighing of the load or contents
of any motor truck and its trailer or the load or contents of any
tractor drawn trailer or wagon.
SEC TION 2.
It shall be the duty of the city weighmaster to collect
all fees for the use of the city scales, which fees shall be paid
into the general fund. He shall submit to the City Treasurer on
the first of each month a written report showing the number and
tonage of each vehicle weighed durin` the preceding month and steal'
remit to the treasurer the amount collected by him.
• 'SECTION 3.
'Any person violating or failing to comply with the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upo',
conviction thereof shall be punishable by a find of not less than
Five 05.00) Dollars and not more than Ten (10.00) Dollars or by
imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not exceeding Fifty
(50) days, or by both sur h fine and imprisonment.
SEC TION 4.
All ordinances and parts of oridinances in conflict here-
with are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SEC TION 5.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
