uab A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
It ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIVE 1946 FIVE -PASSENGER
0' FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILES TO BE USED BY MEMBERS OF THE POLICE
UUU DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE CON-
DITIONS UPON VJIIICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. '
That the City Itiianager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Faducah of
five (5) 1946 Five -Passenger Four -Door Automobiles suitable
for use in the police department of said city. No bid shall
be considered unless it contains the written agreement of the
dealer that said automobiles, if purchased, shall be delivered
to the city within a period of thirty (30) days from the date of
such purchase.
SECTION 2.
The City tanager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted up at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in at least one issue of the Dun�'Democrat.
The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days
prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within
ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No
bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be
received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of
bids. All bids received by the City Manager gip to the time fixed
in the notice shall be filed with the Loard of Commissioners who
may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board
of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all
bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase sa
automobiles until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the
execution of a contract.
SECTION 3.
This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
