AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE; CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE, OF GASOLINE AND OIL FROM
THE SHELL OIL COMPANY FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR (4) MONTHS FROM 14AY 1st, is
1946, AND PRESCRIBING ME TS.RMS AND C014DITIOTIS UNDER, lS'HICH SAID
PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C01,24ISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City tcana.�er be, and he is hereby authorized
to enter into and execute with the Shell Oil Company a contract
for the purchase by the City upon its order the gasoline and
oil required for all governmental operations during a period of
four (4) months from May 1st, 1946, said contract to contain the
following terms, conditions and covenants: -
"The Company hereby agrees to sell and deliver to the Ci
upon its order the 3asoline and motor oil required for all govern-
mental operations during a period of four (4) months from May 1st,
1946, at the following prices:
Ethyl Gasoline .0.155 Per Gal.
X-100 Motor Oil (Sealed'in Drums � 0.67 It
Golden Shell Motor Oil (Sealed in Drums . . . 0.46
(The above motor oil prices are subject to quantity
discount for one time, one place delivery, as follows:
Less than 25 Gallons None
25 - 60 Gallons l/ per gallon
61 - 120 " 2 n n
121 - 480 " 3 n "
481 - 1999 " 5¢ n "
Terms of one per cent ten days, net thirty days, apply
for all purchases of motor oils.
"Payment shall be made by the City not later than the
tenth of each month for the amount of products sold and delivered
during the preceding month.
"In consideration of the Agreement of the City to pur-
chase of the Company all of the gasoline and motor oil required
for use during the aforesaid period, the Company agrees that
in the event of a general advance in the retail price of gasoline
or motor oil at any time durin; the aforesaid period, the Company':
obligation to sell and deliver gasoline and oil at the aforesaid
prices shall remain and continue in full force and effect."

SECTION 2.
As the various departments of the cify must be immedia
supplied with gasoline and oil for the protection of the public
health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
