AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE INSPECTION OF WEIGHTS AND
• MEASURES USED IN -ALL PLACES OF BUSINESS WITHIN THE CORPORATE

All scales and containers used for the weighing and
measuring of food, produce or a commodity of any kind which is
sold in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, shall be regulated
and designed in accordance with the standard of weights and
measurements, and it shall be unlawful for any person to sell any
commodity for which the price is determined by the use of scales
or a container unless said scales or containers have been in-
spected within a period of six (6) months prior to the date of
such sale. The inspection shall be made by a member of the
Police department who shall be designated by the City Mana`er
to serve as Inspector of Weights and Measures.
An inspection of all scales and containers used for
measurement of commodities sold within the City of Paducah shall
be made once each six months, and for each inspection made the
owner of said scales or containers shall pay to the City of
Paducah a fee in the sum of 25�.
For each scale or container which complies with the
Standard of Weights and Measures as determined by the Inspector,
a sticker showing his certificate of approval shall be issued,
said certificate bearing the date of the inspection and the name
of the official by whom the inspection was made.
SECTION 2.
Any person violating or failing to comply with any of
Provisions of this ordinance, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not
less than „5.00, and not more than $100.00, or by imprisonment
in the City Jail for a period of not exceeding fifty (50) days,
or by both such fine and imprisonment.

SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
