AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEASING OF A PORTION OF A
15 ACRE TRACT OF GROUND AT 6TH AND TERRELL STREE`[5 TO THE PADUCAH
BRICK AND SUPPLY COMPANY FOR USE IN THE DIGGING AND RELOVAL OF SAN.
AND AUTHORIZING _ME MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE, FOR AND 0`I
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, A LEASE CONTAINING THE TERMS, CON-
DITIONS AND COVENANTS PROVIDED HEREIN
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CO,81ISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, lease to the Paducah
Brick and Supply Company, that part of the 15 acre tract of ground
at 6th and Terrell Streets which is adjacent to the Ohio River
for use in the di -ging and removal of sand, and the Payor and
the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, for and on behalf
of the City of Paducah, a lease to the said Paducah Brick and Supply
Company which shall be in words and figures as follows, to-;ait:
"That the party of the first part, City of Paducah Kent l

hereby leases and grants unto the party of the second part, PaducaA
Brick and Supply Company, from the date hereof until December 31st,
1946 the right to use and to enter upon the hereinafter described
land for the purpose of digging and removing sand from that portio
thereof adjacent to the Ohio River, and for the purpose of obtaini_Ig
and hauling sand therefrom, including the right of ingress and to
egress from the river over and through a 15 acre tract of land, moxle
or less, located at the northeast corner of 6th and Terrell Streets,
said tract of land fronting 396 feet on the North side of 6th Street
and extending back a uniform width along Terrell Street to the riv r.
In consideration whereof, the Company arees to pay the ci
the sum of Twenty-five (25/) cents for each two and one-half (22)
yards of sand removed from said property, the payment therefor to lie
made to the City Treasurer on the 1st day of each month hereafter for
all sand removed during the preceeding month.
It is further understood and agreed that the Company will
keep an accurate account of all sand hauled from said property and
shall submit to the City Treasurer in detailed form on the first
of each month when payment is made a record showing the number of
yards of sand removed from said property during the previous month
All excavation work and hauling shall be done at the expense
of the Company and the City shall not assume any expense or liabil!ty
whatever in connection with the loading and transportation of sand
from said property.

Sam Tackett, the party of the third part herein, having '
leased the tillable portion of said land to December 31st, 1946,
joins in this lease for the purpose of agreeing and does hereby
agree that said lands may be used by the Company for the purposes
hereinabove provided, and it is understood that his use of said
land shall not in any way interfere with the company's right of
ingress to and egress from the river over and through the cultivate
portion of said land."
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
