BE IT OPDAINED PY THE BOARD OF COY I3SIONERS OF THE CITY OF'
IPADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City of Paducah accept, subject to the conditions
hereinafter provided, the offer of Forrest Crutchfield to sell to said
city for the sum of 'Three Thousand (;;3000.00) Dollars the hull of
the steamer 'L:useatine" now laying at the docks of the ",est Kentucky
Coal Company in Paducah, Kentucky, and I.Ir. Chas. A. -illiams, the
actin; City ;.tanager, is hereby authorized and empoxered, for and
on behalf of the City of Paducah, to enter into a contract with the
said Forrest Crutchfield for the purchase of the hull of said steam r,
said contract to contain the following terms, conditions and covena�bs:-
"The Boat Owner (meaning Forrest Crutchfield:} hereby agrees t sell
to the City for the sum of 'Three Thousand („3000.00) Dollars the st'el
twelve compartment hull of the steamer "1,tuscatine” nowmoored at th
doc'.ts of the :'!est Kentucky Coal Company in the City of Paducah, Ken ucky,
to be used as a municipal landing dock, and the City agrees to purcl
the same at that price upon the followint conditions: -
(1) That the hull of said steamer shall be delivered by the .
Owner at his expense to the foot of Broadway in Paducah, Kentucky,
or to such other point in that vicinity as may be designated by the
City.
(2) The cost Owner further agrees and obli-,ates himself' (1)
remove the fan -tail of said craft, (2) to install thereon a donkey
enZine of sufficient size to siphon out the accumulation of water
:!bilethe hull is beim; used as a landing dock, (3) to .furnish
all necessary cables and lines necessary for tieing up said hull
and making the same usable as a landing dock, (4) to construct on
said hull an office suitable to the city for use by a caretaker

or other employees of the city who will be charged with the duty of
maintaining• said landing dock and supervising the operations thereo ,
including the installation of a telephone in said office, (5) to
construct at each end of the hull a ramp from the raver bank to the
top of the hull, said ramps t1 be of sufficient size an:; stacility

for use of trucks and other motor vehicles when driven onto and off
of said dock for the purpose of loadin" and unlodding, (0) to
c,notruct a removable steel 3uard rail around the outside edge of
said hull, and (/) to furnish all paint necessary for use in
repairin, all parts of said hull which han not been painted, all
of which materials shall bo purchased ani the work performed riithoa
expento to the city.
The Lost Owner shall, by a bill of sale or other proper
:instrument o;' writinE, sell and convey the aforesaid hull to the
City, free and clear of all liens and encumbro:nces.
It is understood and agreed that all of the aforesaid work
shall to completed and said hull shall to ready for use as a
landin.r dock not later than Lay 15th, 1946.
In consideration whereof, the City agrees to pay to the Coat
Owner, provided he shall comply with all of the aforesaid terras and
conditions, the sum of 'Three Thousand (;;3000.00 Dollars, but said
sum shall not be paid, to him until the hull has been inspected by
the members of the legislative body and has been formally accepted.
2ECTION 2.
There is hereby appropriated the sum of -1h;:ee Thousand (•;;3000.
Dollars for payment of the purchase price of said hull, and the
amount of said appropriation shall be included in the apportionment
ordinance to be adopted in the year 1946.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be introduced at a re-ular meetin- of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file at least one week for
puUlic inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put
upon its final passage, and if adopted, it shall be in full force a
effect ten days thereafter.
