SECTION 1.
That the Acting City I--anager •be, and he is hereby authorized
and empowered to advertise for bids for the purchase of 100 parkin
meters to be installed in the business district and on the streets
and in the blocks to be hereafter desi,nated by the'i;oard of
Commissioners. Bidders shall submit in wittin their offers stati g
the purchase price for each meter which ,hall be so operated as
to permit legal nsr'.%in_ for a period of twelve (12) minutes for ea(h
I/ derosited, one hour for each 5I/ deposited, and each meter shall be
so constructed as to allow a total legal parkin, time of two hours
For the purchase price stated in the bi,' the Successful i.idder
shall also be required to install the meters uithout expense to th
city, and one-half of the receipts from the operation of said meters
shall be paid to the successful bidder until the entire purchase
-rice for all meters has been paid. Provided, however, it shall b
understood and agreed that the City shall retain for the purpose o
defraying the cost of maintenance and repair work, the sum of 25�
per month for each meter which is to be purchased.
SECTION 2.
The City Tanager shall advertise for the purchase and install-
ation of said meters by postint- up a notice at the City Hall Door and
by insertin,- a notice of the request for bids in at least one (1)
issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and publishd for
at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and the bids
shall not be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which
this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the
hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids re-
ceived by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice
for the openin,, of bids shall be filed with the Board of comm-
issioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible
bidder. The riCht to reject any and all bids is reserved and
the City of Paducah shall not become legally liable to purchase
said meters until the adaption of an ordinance authorizing
t' -e execution of a contract.

SEC TlOif 2.
This TZesolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
