AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE CITY
PLANNING AND ZONING COIMPMISSION PROVIDING FOR THE ZONING OF ALL BLOCKS AND
I
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BOUNDED ON THE .'WEST BY 9TH
STREET, ON THE SOUTH BY JONES STREET, ON THE EAST BY 6TH STREET AND ON THE
NORTH BY'JACKSON STREET, AS AN EXCLUSIVE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT OR ZONE AND
PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY TO BE IMPOSED FOR VIOLATION OF THE RESTRICTION AS
SET FORTH IN THE AFORESAID RESOLUTION, ADOPTED BY THE CITY PLANNING AND
ZONING COIMISSION ON SEPTEMBER 25, 1939, j
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF EOM11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That upon the recommendation and request of the City
Planning and Zoning Commission as shorn by its final report embodied in a
resolution adopted b; it on September 25th, 1939, all of the blocks and
property in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, bounded on the ':Jest by 9th, on
the South by Jones Street, on the East by 6th Street and on the North by
Jackson Street, is hereby declared to be an exclusive residential district
within the meaning of the City Planning and Zoning Commission Law and to
be used for residential purposes, and no business house or business shall
be permitted within said area or zone.
SECTION 2.
Any property owner, tenant or other person who erects,
(constructs or reconstructs any building in violation of or contrary to the
aforesaid provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not less
than $10.00 nor more than 5'100.00 for each offense so committed, and each
day such offense is committed shall be deemed a separate offense and shall
be subject to a separate penalty under the provisions hereof, or the
person so offending or so guilty of violation of the provisions hereof,
may, in addition to such fine be imprisoned not more than fifty (50) days
at the discretion of the Judge or Jury trying the case.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
