AN ORDINANCE AEENDING SECTION 2 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED!
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY OF AN ACT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE 0.
KENTUCKY ADOPTED IN 1928, AND COMMONLY KNOWN AND REFERRED TO AS
'TEE CITY PLANNING & ZONING LAW1 ", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD
OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 17, 1928.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That Section 2 of an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
OF AN ACT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF Ti:E STATE OF KENTUCKY ADOPTED
IN 1928, AND CO"-'MONLY KNOWN AND REFERRED 7-0 AS 'THE CITY PLANNING
ZONING LAW' ", which was adopted by the Eoard of Commissioners on
December 17, 1928, be and the same is hereby amaNded so that said
section as amended shall read as follows:
"SECTION 2. A residential zone within the meaning of this
ordinance shall be construed to mean any land fronting on both
sides of any public street or court and extending to the rear
lot lines of the lots fronting on such street or court, or to the
center line of an alley, where at the time of the enactment of
this ordinance less than one-third of the frontage of said
land within any one block is used or designed for business or
industrial purposes, and a block as herein defined shall consist
of the space from one intersecting street to the next intersecting
street. An intersecting street as used herein shall mean any
street or public way or court, twenty-five (25) feet or more in
width, which joins another street or court at an angle, whether or'I
not it crosses the other. The buildings used for the following
purposes shall not be construed as being used for business or
industrial purposes: Churches and other places of worship;
schools, libraries, municipal buildings, public play grounds,
parks and reservations; clubs, lodges, boarding houses, apartment
houses and hotels; and either publicly or privately owned hospital#
sanitariums, or auditoriums."
SECTION 2.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption,
