HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 120, No Ordinance NumberPage AN ORDINAIXE AUTHORIZING THE CLO.;=1:� OF ALL OF TNAT PORTION OF JARRETT STREET LYING ADJACENT TO TIIE PRO1'.-:RTY OF THE TRIi;ITY METHODIST CHURCH DESCRIBED AS LOTS NOJ. 10,11,12 AND 13 II; TIE HUSE1,1 DS AND JARRETT ADDITION TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KLI?TUCKY: IXI-P'REAS, the Trinity 'I,;ethodist Church desires the use of that portion of Jarrett Street lying* adjacent to its property, the same being described as Lots Nos. 10, 11, 12 and 13 in the Husbands and Jarrett! Addition, for the establislment of a recreational park, and having requested that said street be closed in order that complete control of the (same may be.had at all times for such purposes; and, V,THER'EAS, the owners of all property abutting upon that portion of Jarrett Street proposed to be closed, as well as all other persons whose interests would be af-fected thereby, having filed their petitions with this Board requesting that said street be closed, and it appearing that said street has never been used for travel and is not necessary or convenient for use as a public street; NO'GI, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE, BOARD OF CO1,1i:_ISS- IIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH:- SECTION 1. That the portion of Jarrett Street lyin_c adjacent to the Trinity T`ethodist Church property, the same beginning at a point in the southerly line of said street 360 feet east of the southeast corner of the intersection of Powell Avenue and Jarrett Street; thence along the south- erly side of Jarrett Street a distance of 160 feet to the viest line of an alley which runs through the block from Clements Street to Jarrett Street; thence at right angles in a northerly direction and along the continuat- ion of the viest line of said alley a distance of 50 feet to the northerly line of Jarrett Street; thence along the northerly line of Jarrett Street and in a Westerly direction 160 feet; thence at right angles in a souther- ly direction 50 feet to the point of beginning, be and the same is hereby closed.
