HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 116, No Ordinance NumberPage 116 It' 7` AN ORDINANCE A14ENDING SECTION 30 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC= -THE USE OF STREETS BY VEHICLES, STREET CARS AND PEDESTRIANS, CREATING A CENTRAL TRAFFIC APD) BUSINESS DISTRICT, ESTABLISHING BOULEVARDS, SAFETY ZONES AND AUTHORIZING THE 1,7ARK- ING OF CROSSWALKS OR ANY ZONES HEREIN PROVIDED FOR AND THE ERECTION OF SIGNS AND SIGNALS; REGULATING PARKING AND DESCRIBING THE STREETS OR PORTIONS OF STREETS THAT T,1AY BE USED FOR PARKING AND THE IAANNER OF UTIL- IZING SATS -L, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY, AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR ANY VIOLATION THEREOF" ADOPTED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 14, 1925, AND Al.ENDED BY ORDINANCE ADOPTED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL ON ATAY 22, 1933, SO THAT SAID SECTION 30 OF SAID ORDINANCE AND SAID ORDINANCE AS ALIENDED SHALL READ AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI7AISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 30 of an ordinance entitled: "API ORDINANCE ENTITLED SAN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC --THE USE OF STREETS BY VEHICLES, STREET CARS AND PEDESTRIANS, CREATING A CENTRAL TRAFFIC AND BUSINESS DISTRICT, ESTABLISHING BOULEVARDS, SAFETY ZONES AND AUTdOR- IZING THE MARKING OF CROSSWALKS OR ANY ZONES HEREIN PROVIDED FOR AND THE ERECTION OF SIGNS AND SIGNALS; REGULATING PARKING AND DESCRIBING THE STREETS OR PORTIONS OF STREETS THAT IIAY BE USED FOR PARKING A,TD THE PAANNER OF UTILIZING SAIM IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR ANY VIOLATION THEREOF" and Section 30 as the same is amended by ordinance adopted by the General Council on B4ay 22, 1933, be and the I same is hereby amended so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: Section 30. Subject to the provisions of Section 24, 25 and 26 and 27, parallel, parking will be permitted on following streets: (1) On First Street south of Broadway (2) For commercial vehicles only on Second Street, on west .side of east driveway and on east side of west driveway, provided wheels of cars are not more than six inches from the curb line of the market house. After regular market hours passenger vehicles or other vehicles may park in these places. (3) On both sides of Kentucky Avenue from Third to Seventh Street except that it shall be unlawful for vehicles to park at any time on the north side of Kentucjy Avenue between Third and 'Fourth Streets, (4) On both sides of Jefferson Street from Second Street to Seventh Streets. (5) On east side of Third Street from I:entucky Avenue to. Ylashington Street. (6). On both sides of Sixth Street from Kentucky Avenue to Jefferson Street. Pa ;e 117 4 e (7) On both sides of Fifth Street from Kentucky Avenue to Jefferson Street. (8) On both sides of Fourth Street from Kentucky Avenue to Jefferson Street. (9) On both sides of Third Street from Kentucky Avenue to Jefferson Street. (10) On both sides of Second Street from Broadway to r Jefferson Street (11) On both sides of Broadway from First to seventh I Street subject to the provisions of Sections 26 of this ordinance. (12) All cars parked parallel must keep their right wheels within six inches of the curb. (13 ) The :Nest driveway of Second Street from Broadway to Kentucky Avenue, will be used for south bound traffic only, and Brest driveway of said street for norabound traffic only. SECTIO11 2.
