A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE LEKINGTOII RAIL':7AY
SYSTET.1, INC., IN THE .NUTS OF SEVEN THOUSAND (:;;'.7000.00) DOLLARS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF IS01'OR BUS FRXT HIDE NO. 2, 17I1ICH WAS30LD
BY THE CITY MANAGER AT PUBLIC AUCTIO11 AT 12:00 O'CLOCK I'lOON,
ON NOVEMBER 7th. 1944
WHEREAS, it appears from the report of the City-anager
that on November 7th, 1944 at 12:00 o'clock Noon, he offered
for sale in his office in the City Hall lJotor Bus Franchise
No. 2 which was ordered to be sold under an ordinance entitled
"AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE CITY 1,WITAGER OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KEP?'"UCKY, TO SELL A FRANCHISE AUTHORIZING TH PURCHASER TO i,1AINTAI
AND OPERATE MOTOR PASSENGER. BUSES OVER AZ UPOi1 ME STREETci, AVE14U
AND PUBLIC IIPIAYS IN 'E-:3 GITY OF PADUCAH, AHD FIXING TiIE TERLw A:11D
CONDITIONS OF THE EXERCISE OF SAID GRANT", which was adopted by th
Board of Commissioners on 7ebruary 1st, 1944; and,
WHEREAS, it is further shown in said report that only three
qualified bidders appeared at said sale, the Kentucky Utilities
Company, whose highest bid was x1700.00; 1k 11agruder, whose
highest bid was :A 700.00, and the LexinLton Railway System, Inc.,
whose highest bid was e7000.00, and that the latter bid was the
highest and best bid which was sutxaitted; and,
1-TIEREAS, it further appearing that the Lexington Railway
System, Inc., is fdnancially able to carry out and comply with all
of the terms and requirements of said ordinance;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ; OARD OF COn .113SIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City of Paducah accept the bid of the Lexington
Railway System, Inc., in the sum of ,Y7000.00 for the purchase
of the aforesaid motor Bus Franchise No. 2, and that the sale of
said franchise to said company be, and the same is hereby ratified
and approved upon the condition that said company shall pay the
aforesaid purchase price in full and s'.all deliver to the City of
Paducah within five (5) days after the sale of said franchise its
written acceptance thereof in words and figures as follows, to -wit:

in consideration of the sum of jeven Thousand Dollars
(;7000.00) in cash this day paid b;,- it to the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, and of the rights and privileges

granted to it under the previsions of an ordinance
entitled: "A! ORDINANCE DIRECTIH , TIME CITY MANAGER
OF THE CITY Of PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO 3ELL A FEAUCHISE
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASER TO MA1JTAIII AND OPERATE MOTOR
PASSENGER BUSES OVER AND UPON TUE STREETS, AVENUES AND
PUBLIC :"JAYS IN THE CI'I"1 OF PADUCAII, AND FIxING THE TERDIS
AND CONDITIONS OF THE E:;LTCI3s^ OF —%I7 C RANT", which was
adopted by the Loard of Commissioners on 2ebruary lot,
1944, hereby accepts said blotor bus Franchise and agrees
to comply with all of the provisions of said ordinance
and assume all of the duties, responsibilities and liabil
imposed under the provisions of said ordinance within a
period of ten (10) days from this date.

Inc., has hereunto caused its name to be subscribed heret
by D.D.Stewart, Its President, and has caused its corpora
seal to be affixed hereby by A.Z.Looney, its Secretary,
this the Slth day of November, 1944.
