A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF GASOLINE AND OIL TO BE USED BY THE CITY
OF PADUCAH IN ALL OF ITS GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS FOR A PERIOD OF
THREE MONTHS BEGINNING OCTOBER 1st, 1944, ADID FOR PURCHASES MADE
AFTER JANUARY 1st, 1945, TO REQUEST BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE
GASOLINE AND OIL REQUIRED BY THE CITY FOR PERIODSOF FOUR MONTHS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City tianager be, and he is hereby authorized and
empowered to advertise for bids for the purchase of gasoline and
oil to be used by the City of Paducah in all of its governmental
operations for a period of three (5) months beginning October 1st,
1944, and for purchases made after January 1st, 1945 he will request
bids for the purchase of the gasoline and oil required by the City
for periods of four months. The City Manager will advertise for
Ethel gasoline and also for both premium and first grade
motor oil, sealed in drums, by notice posted up at the city hall
door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at
least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notices shall be
posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of
bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date
on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All
bids received by the.City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice
for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Conunissione
who may let the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders.
The right shall be reserved to reject any and all bids and all bid
shall prodive a guarantee against advance in the market price, and
shall also guarantee a corresponding reduction in price in the evert
of a decrease in the market price of gasoline and oil,
SECTION 2.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
