AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTIOI; Or' A PUBLIC

WHEREAS, under an ordinance heretofore adopted by the Loa.
of conunissioners, the I.;ayor and City clerk dere authorized to exec
and deliver to the United :;tabes of :,t:.erica a tract of land locate
at the Northeast comer of the intersection of 21st Z: i•lonroe Stree
in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the construction of a Public
Health Center; and,
"ITIL32w.3, the Cit;; of Paducah, in conjunction with M;cCracke
County, Kentucky, thereafter aCreed to lease said property from the
United States of America for the maintenance and operation of said
Public health center; and,
Vii-!EREA3, it has since been decided oy the .:oard of
Conunissioners of the City o: Paducah and by the :Fiscal Court of
McCracken County, Kentucky, that t,ao construction of a 'health cente:
at 21st F: ldor_roe Streets :;oulc' not be suitable and convenient for u
by persons for whoze benefit tl,e health Center :is to be maintained,
and that a site in a centerly located business district should be
selected; and,

purchase of all lots f.ontin_on the South side of Kentucky Avenue
between 9th a 10th Streets with the oaception of the lot �,:.ned by
i.Iary Bu -well located at the Southeast corner of the intersection of
10th & Kentucky Avenue; and,
17H'REAS, tae lot owned by the said Mary 3urerell cannot e.e
therefore
purchased at a reasonable price, and it }rill/be necessary to
institute condemnation proceedinZr in order to acq -ire title to
said lot;
NOW THEREFORE, DE I:^ ORDAINED LZ THE LOARD OF C01,11i:ia
0' TIIE CITY OF PADUCAH, KL'IITUCKY:
SEC TION 1.
That t'.e City of Paducah approve the location of the
public health center on Kentucky Avenue between 9th L`c 10th Streets
in Paducah, Kentucky, provided its location on that site is also
approved by the Fiscal Court of IdcCraeken county, and that the
Corporation counsel be authorized to prcpa•_e for introduction
an ordinance or'ordinances eontaininl- such terms and conditions
as may be required by the i—deral 'Forks A7,cncy if said A-ency
approves t' -.e application of the city and county for the constructie
of the health center at said neer location.

SEC TIOU ".
That if the Federal ;orks A3ency approves the ori3inal
plans and specifications prepared b,: the County and City for the
construction of the Health Center at said new location, the Corpo:
Counsel is further authorized to join with the County Attorney in
Pilin, of a suit for condemnation of the aforesaid lot owned by D
Purnell, and to take such other steps as may be necessary in order
acquire the title to the other property which is described in the
options obtained by the City T.l nager.
3.ECTIOi, 3.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
SEC TIOTI 4.
This ordinance shall be in full force an" effect from
and after its adoption.
