WHEREAS, under and pursuant to a Resolution adopted by the
Board of Commissioners on April 25, 1944, the City Kanager re-
quested bids for painting the City;arket house, and contractors

at 10:00 A.;::; and,
;7;IEREA3, Sanderson L: Hancock were the only contractors
who submitted a bid, and it 9npcarinC. that the amount they would
charge for said work is reasonatle;

SECTION 1.
',,hat the sum of :,,1000.00 be argropriated by the City of
Paducah for re-pa_ntinZ the City �-,arket house, the amount so
arnropriated to be charged t7� .Account #1402 for "I;:aintenance of
Buildings" as set forth in the apportionment Ordinance adopted
for the year 1944, and the City :,tanager is hereby authorized and
emoo,uered, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, to enter
into a contract with the said Sanderson & Hancock. Under the
terms of said contract tie said Sanderson Z. Hancock shall be
obligated to apply one (1) coat of paint on the exterior doors
and transoms and interior doors and transoms at the City ,".;arket
House, and two (2) coats of paint on the cornice, ceiling and
beams of said I,•iarket House, the quality of the paint used to
be approved by the City Manager, but all paint and other material
to be furnished at the expense of the contractor. In considerate
for said services and for the material furnished by said con-
tractor, the City will pay to them the sum of '„1000 upon the
completion and acceptance of the work.
SEC TION 2.
This ordinance shall be intorduced at a ve,ilar meeting
of the Zoard of Commissioners ane'. remain on file for not less than
one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which

ih �-Lall be nut upon its final passage, and if adopted, said
ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days
thereafter.
