HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 100, No Resolution NumberPage 100 A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE PRESENT RAILROAD AND BUS FACILITIES AS BEING SUFFICIENT TO ADEQUATELY SERVE THE TRAVELING PUBLIC IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY 10MREAS, Gibbs Bus Line, Inc., or Tri-State Transit Company, Inc., has applied to the Interstate Commerce Commission for cer- tificate of convenience and necessity to operate buses in interstate com- merce in transporting passengers, express and baggage between Paducah, Kentucky and St. Louis, Missouri, over Illinois Highways 45, 61, 152 and 13 via Anna, Carbondale and Pinchneyville; and WHEREAS, at the present time the City of Paducah, Kentucky is served by the Dixie Greyhound Lines, which company operates three buses each way daily between said town of Kentucky and St. Louis, Mis- souri, handling passengers, express and baggage; and WHEREAS, the Illinois Central Railroad also oerates three trains daily in each direction from said town of Paducah,Kentucky to St. Louis, Missouri, in the transportation of passengers, express, baggage and mail service; NOIN, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The Mayor and Board of Commissioners after due consider- ation believe that the City of Paducah .is at present adequately served by the present transportation facilities. SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. S. B.
