fvotes cast for both candidates for Mayor at the last .ireceeding
general election for Mayor, and
WHEREAS, said petition and ordinance were
received by the Board of Commissioners and ordered to lie over until
the next regular meeting of said Board, which convened and was

held on the 9th day of March, 1936,
WHEREAS, on said 9th day of March, 1936, a
emotion was made and entered of record to adopt said ordinance so
(repealing said ordinance aforesaid, but which motion was, by
majority of the members of the Board of Commissioners rejected and
denied, and it now becoming the duty of the Board of Commissioners
to submit said question of the passage of said ordinance to the
voters of the �'ity at the next regular election,
NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD i
!OF CO"XIIIS SION ERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
i
That there be submitted to the voters of the
City of Paducah the question of the passage of the folio,,., -Ing
} ordinance which has been proposed by a petition and whdkch has not

been adopted by the Board of Commissioners, to -wit:
"AN ORDINANCE REPEALING Ail ORDINANCE ENTITLED,
'AN ORDINANCE P`.iOVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHBNET OF A MUNICIPAL
COLLEGE IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO BE KNOWN AS THE 'PADUCAH JUNIOR
COLLEGE1 AND PROVIDING FOR CONTROL OF SAID COLLEGE BYTHECITY
OF PADUCAH, AND THE METHOD OF SUPPORTING AND MAINTAINING THE SAME,
WHICH IAS ADOPTED BY THL• BOARD OF C0:311ISSION"RS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH ON THE 27TH DAY OF' JANUARY, 1936.
"BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
"Section 1. That an ordinance entitled, PAN
ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISFE-INET OF A MUNICIPAL COLLEGE
IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO BE KNOWN AS THE 'PADUCAH JUNIOR COLLEGE?
AND PROVIDING FOR CONTROL OF SAID COLLEGE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
AND THE METHOD OF SUPPORTING AND MAINTAINING THE SAME?, which was
adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah on the
27th day of January, 1936, be and the same is hereby repealed.
"Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its adoption."
SECTION 2.
That said question be voted upon at the next
regular election in the City of Paducah to be held on the first
Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1936, and that the
question to be printed upon the ballot shall be as follows:
"Shall the proposed ordinance entitled:
VAN ORDINANCE REPEALING AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED, 'AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A MUNICIPAL
COLLEGE IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO BE
KNOl9N AS THE 1PADUCAH JUNIOR COLLEGE'
AND PROVIDING FOR CONTROL OF SAID
COLLEGE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND
THE METHOD OF SUPPORTING AND MAINTAINING
THE SAME1, WHICH l'iAS ADOPTED BY THE
BOARD OF C07'1:1IS' IONTERS OF THS CITY OF
PADUCAH ON THE 27TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1936',
be passed."

SECTION 3.
Said question when printed upon the ballots and
voted upon shall be certified by the election commissioners as any
other public question, and the votes thereon certified to the 1
Board of Commissioners and spread upon the records of this Board,
and said ordinance if so adopted by majority of the votes cast on
said question, shall become effective as soon as the result thereof
is officially ascertained and d,clared by said Board of Election
,ommissioners.

SECTION 4.
The question of the adoption of said ordinance shall
be advertised in the official newspaper of the City of Paducah, by
the publication in full of •this ordinance not less than ten (10)
nor more than fifteen (15) days.before the date of said General
Il Election.
