AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING UNAPPROPRIATED FUNDS AND
TARES FOR TI -E PURPOSE OF PROVIDING Z.EANS, EQUIPMENT AND THE
PAY OF LIEN IN .CERTAIN PUBLIC 1,7ORKS AIID IMPROVEMENTS Ii! THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, AND PROVIDING FOR THiE� BORROWIWG OF MONEY TO MEET SAID
APPROPRIATION."
11lHEREAS, in the estimated revenues of the City of Paducah
for the year 1934, and in the Ordinance appropriating said
revenues for different governmental and other purposes, there
was an allowance of $ 26,000 as an actual or anticipated failure
of revenues, but which revenues have been provided for by taxes
duly levied and are collectable for said year, and
WHEREAS, the Federal Government cooperating with the City
of Paducah in its employment and reemployment service under the
designation of F.E.R.A and certain other public improvements .
through agencies of ts,e State of Kentucky for the purpose of
providing employment and needed public improvements in the City
of Paducah requiring the expenditure of funds by the City of
Paducah in providing transportation facilities, supervision and
certain supplies and equi,)went.
NOVI THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COJEAISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
SECTIO_: 1.
That of the unappropriated taxes levied by the -City of
Paducah for the year 1934, be and the same are hereby
appropriated to the amount of u 10,000 for the purpose of
public improvements and the purchase of equipment, material
and supplies to be used at the direction of the City Manager in
cooperation with agencies of the Federal and State Government.
For the _purpose of making said funds immediately available and
in anticipation of the collection of same, the 'Mayor is
authorized to borro:,.,from any bank or trust company any amount
not exceeding said w 10,000, and pledge said taxes and the
faith and credit of the City of Paducah as security therefor
and to execute a note or notes therefor to be signed by the
Mayor and the City Treasurer or Acting Treasurer, and to pay
interest thereon at the rate not exceeding 6% per annum. The
City i:onager will expend only such parts of said fund as may
be necessary for carrying on and promoting the -�3ublic

improvements in cooperation with the Federal and State
Government as aforesaid, and any balance remaining unexpended
of said funds on the 31st day of December, 1934 will
automatically revert to and become a part of the General funds of
the City of Paducah.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
