WHEREAS, the City Manager has duly advertised for bids to be submitted to him and to be opened by him in his office at the City Hall at 10:00 o'clock A.M. May 1st, 1934, upon one accounting machine complete and numerous bidders having submitted their bids pursuant to said notice and the City Manager having considered all of said bids and.finding that the bid of the Remington Rand Incorporated.is the lowest and best bid, and their machine and equipment at the price submitted being most desirable under the terms and conditions submitted, and the City Manager having recommended the acceptance of said bid which was ti 1,631.75, for one Remington Accounting machine complete, as proposal of March 2)th, 1934, on file in the office of City Manager and their bid of April 30th, 1934 ,including three yearsT service and systems, forms and housing equipment complete all to be installed and two or more operators instructed and trained to its use. And WHEREAS, it further appears to the said Board of Commissioners that the use of said machine will contribute to the efficiency and reduce the expense of the Finance Department, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COtUJISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized and empowered, upon the adoption of this ordinance to execute and complete a contract with Remington Rand Inc., for the punccase and installation of the equipment in the Finance Department mentioned and described in the preamble hereto and to pay there- for the sum of a 1,631.75, said sum having heretofore been apportioned to such purpose in the apportionment and budget ordinance for 1934.
