':7Hr.REAS, the government of the United States is 'willing to and will expend the sum of approximately Three Hundred Thousand (5,300,000.00) Dollars in payment for labor in the City of Paducah within the next six months or less, provided the City of Paducah will expend during the year 1933 approximately Twelve Thousand (;12,000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of -)aging for material and other things necessary to carry out the contemplated activities, and, :;HFREAS, heretofore by proper resolution or ordinance, the anticipated revenue of the City was fixed at Four Hundred Sixty Two Thousand, Five Hundred and Eighty Two ($462,582.28) Dollars and Twenty eirht cents, upon which was based the apportionment ordinance or budget for the year 1933, and, "TJ;EFEAS, since that time it appearing that from the delinquent taxes there will be collected a sufficient amount so that an additional anticipated revenue can be declared to the extend of 5y 12,000.00, and, ""FE:RF.AS, the government of the United States requires, before it -sill expend the amount hereinabove set out in Paducah for the payment of labor, that the City of Paducah obligate itself to the extent of approximately T'welve Thousand (4�12,000.CO) Dollars, and "..TF.REAS, there exists in the City of Paducah a situation of unemployment, resulting in suffering, want and hunger to many of its citizens, who are unable to procure employment of any character and to alleviate such suffering, want and hunger among those wro are out of employment, a dire necessity exists and an emergency -nhich demands immediate attention, and by the altruistic effort of the government of the United States, couples with the City of Paducah acquiescing in the demand of the government and cooperating with same, aid and comfort can be brought to our people. IM7, T -ETT -FORE, BF IT PrS OIVFD: That an additional anticipated revenue is -ow declared to exist to the extent of 12,000.00 from the sources hereinabove set out. and be it furt'or resolved that from such addit.fonal anticipated revenue Pare 832 there is now set aside to the Department of Public Viorks, Twelve Thousand (;'.121000.00) Dollars, which is to be used for the purpose of meeting the demand of the government of the United States so that the government of the United States will furnish the money, as stated, to be paid out to the unemployed for their services at reasonable wages during the next six months or less .
