AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TTTE OPERATION OF LOCOMOTIVES
TRAINS AND CUTS OF CARS ON TIM TRACKS OF THE NASHVILLE,
CHATTANOOGA & ST. LOUIS RAILWAY OVER AND ACROSS CALDflELL STREET,
AT UTTION STATION, IN THE CITY OF PALUCAH, KIMITUCKY, AND RT4P:,;ALIPTG
ANY AND ALL OTHT:R ORDINANCES AND/OR REGULATIONS CONCERNING THE
OPERATIONCr LOCOMOTMS, TRAINS, AND CUTS OF ,CARS OVER AND ACROSS
SAID CROSSING AND STREET.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COPi JISSIONERS OF TRF.
,CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY;
That whenever any locomotive, cars or trains shall
be operated upon the tracks of the Nashville, Chattanooga &
St. Louis Railway within the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and shall
approach the crossing of said tracks over and/or across Caldwell
Street, at Union Station, it shall be the duty of said Railway
Company and its servants and employees, who are at said time and
place engaged in the operation of said locomotive, train and/or
cars, to observe the following precautions for the safety and
protection of persons using said crossing and street of the City
in said vicinity at said time, to -nit;
Section 1.
Any locomotive, train, or car approaching said
crossing shall, before proceeding over or across same, be brought
to a full stop immediately before entering said crossing or
intersection of said street and -said rail;;ay, and said locomotive,
train or car shall t en proceed across said crossing in a careful
manner.
Section 2.
171henever any locomotive shall be so located with
reference to said cars that any of said cars shall pass over said
crossing before the locomotive shall pass over same, said train,
car or cut of cars shall be brought to a full stop so that the
lead car, i.e., the one nearest street ri„ht-of-way with said j
railway right -of -bray, and said train, car, or cut of cars and
locomotive shall then proceed across the said intersection,
preceded by a trainman or other employee of said railway, who
shall flag said intersection until the front of said train, car or
out of cars is well into said intersection.

Section 3.
It is further provided that for any violation of the
terms of this Ordinance by the Railway Company, or its employees,
the said Railway Company shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, for
which it may be warranted by the Police Court of the City of
Paducah and subjected to a fine of not less than Five ($5.00)
Dollars or more than Fifty (.50.00) Dollars, for each offense
in said Police Court of the City of Paducah, and such fine so
assessed to be collected as any other fine assessed against a Cor-
poration.
Section 4.
Any and all Ordinances, or parts of Ordinances that in
any way, or to any extent, undertake to'regulate the operation
of any locomotive, train, car, or cut of cars, at said crossing,
other than as provided herein, are hereby repealed,
Section 5.
This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its
passage, approval, recording and publication/
